Aplikacja Citi Mobile jest dedykowana wyłącznie klientom bankowości detalicznej Banku Handlowego w Warszawie S.A. Treści udostępniane za pośrednictwem aplikacji Citi Mobile zostały stworzone wyłącznie dla lokalizacji, w której Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A działa i posiada licencję na prowadzenie działalności.

The Citi Mobile® app allows you to manage your finances. Intuitive navigation provides convenient access to all your personal accounts and credit cards.

You can log in to the app by entering your Citibank Online username and password or using the Touch ID or Face ID feature. Users who have not previously used our online banking can register directly in Citi Mobile®.
Additionally the app allows for the mobile authorisation with Citi Mobile Token.

Selected list of functionalities in the Citi Mobile®:
Personal account:
- BLIK payments,
- Citi Kantor - a convenient currency exchange platform,
- transfers between own and external accounts, foreign and currency transfers, including Express Elixir transfers and transfers to the Tax Office,
- the Citi Global Wallet service thanks to which the debit card will select the transaction currency by itself when paying without having to switch the card to a foreign currency account,
- possibility to open foreign currency accounts,
- Virtual Card - the ability to activate and use the card before it physically reaches you,
- deposit management.

Credit card:
- BLIK payments,
- Virtual Card - the ability to use the card before it physically reaches you,
- transaction history and information on available credit and balances,
- access to PDF statements for the last 12 months,
- card debt repayment,
- loan from the card in a fast online process,
- possibility of converting into instalments a part of your outstanding balance or transactions above PLN 100, carried out with a credit card (EIR: 18,97%).

We have launched the updated version of the mobile app, introducing patches to improve Mobile Authorization functioning through the ability to generate a notification for transaction authorization by clicking on the Citi Mobile Token icon on the login screen.

App was fine till…

… when U decide to force users to use TokenMobile.

Today I need made some payment at empik online store. Year ago in the same situation I received SMS. Today, your payment service ask me to use Notification at TokenMobile. But it doesn’t work. I try 2 times. Then I chose Blik connected to different accounts in mBank.

Awful application

Well in the world there are so many apps of banking, which Citi is not really following.

The user interface is awful and oldschool, some reasons:

1) Cannot see any spending statistics with categories (both pie/charts, whatever)
2) to make a transfer from the bank app, after login in with face id, Citi asks for password again in the app, easier to use via browser via phone, only option to send money is BLIK per number
3) There is no any info about special offers/promo, etc. like Mastercard, special offers for Citi card holder
4) No clear tariffs when you send money to 3d country or even with express send, app ask you to go to the pdf file where I need to spent my time to find an info, I do not care, I want see based on amount I send money and data the clear amount of commission in the moment, if I will want to see details why exactly this amount I will go to pdf -> the picture is not clear and transparent. For me this scheme is like bank tries to get fee of fee based on fee -> I use another bank app :)

Concluding, the bank it self is quite safe on international level, but app and UI/UX is from 2008, if you want nice interface app for easy track this is not good app at all, for safe bank it is fine ;)

So bad it’s embarrassing

Any authorisation is convoluted and with unnecessary levels of security. So, it scans my face or fingerprints and needs a written password?? Why don’t you just scan my face again? Why is the app set to English, but all relevant messages are in the local language? Why can’t I access or change any important bank or account information? And, even more, why is it so difficult to find relevant information?
The UX is convoluted and polluted with excessive authorisation all the time. Really, did you guys never used another bank app? If the UX is made into garbage because of your security, you have both a UX and a security problem.
It’s really bad.
