HONEST RATING - OLD PLAYER
I am playing since 1.1 version (2020year), one update after the game came out.I have a lot of experience. At the begging of the game it’s fun, a lot of quests and things to do. For end game players it’s no fun, sometimes there are new quests/areas coming out with updates but it’s not enough. The characters are beautiful and animations are well done. The problem is pulling for limited (5*) characters. You usually need to spend money to pull for a special character. There used to be 2 premium limited time banners (with weapon and 5* character) now it’s 2-3 at the same time with 5* characters and 1 with weapon, they usually last 20 days and it’s impossible to get all the characters/weapons you want. The gacha system is tricky. It’s very hard to get the crystals (aka primogems) to buy pulls for characters/weapons. Crystals in the game are really REALLY pricey and normally they are hard to get especially for the higher level players. I recommend it to people that just want to have some fun and are ok with the game getting bored or not getting the character they wanted.
Blatant racism
I’ve played this game since 2020 and with a heavy heart I need to leave this review. The company is taking inspiration from many cultures of people of color. But that inspiration only comes with food, clothing, music, open world climate and visuals and even clothes of the characters, yet there’s little to none dark skinned playable characters in this game. The term “whitewashing” means taking a black history figure and making that figure white skinned. Hoyoverse did this act many times in Genshin Impact. Candace, Al Haitam now also a teased character Ororun and many more from regions Sumeru and Natlan are based on real black people or gods, yet they are depicted as white skinned characters. This is unacceptable and disrespectful to a complete new level. Not to mention slightly misspelling some of the names in English translation but keeping it correct in other translations. How can a creator take a black historical figure, someone who once lived on this earth and make them look like they are from a completely different ethnicity! Hoyoverse developers have been ignoring the voices of their displeased fans for a long time, and now with Natlan region teased and only one ashy looking “dark skinned” character coming out fans have decided to stand our ground.
I am completely and utterly disappointed. I love this game but I will never support racism that this company has shown towards people of color.
I love it but...
I played it since january and I must say that I love it, it’s addicting, the graphics are stunning, story interesting and characters lovable. There is one problem though, the game gets pretty boring when you’re in the late game. The updates are constant but not very often and there is not much to do after you do quests and level characters and their stuff. I really think they should add more endgame content because it’s a gacha game and I want to feel like I payed money for a reason and that money is not wasted on something that I will soon throw away. I love this game and I want to keep playing it and enjoying it but I simply cannot anymore. The anniversary is coming and I truly hope that it will change things and that we actually get something worth being an anniversary reward. I’m giving the game 5 stars because it really deserves it despite its endgame related flaws. Mihoyo please do something and save this game from it’s downfall.
