The latest version of the application severed the connection with my Samsung TV and after trying to remove it, it cannot find my TV. The washing machine is still working properly so it's not the fault of the network but the last fix of the application. Everything worked flawlessly so far, please do something about the topic and include it in the new revision. My phone is an iPhone 11 and it probably isn't the cause of the problem either.

Title: SmartThings – Great Hardware, Poor Software IntegrationRating: ★☆☆☆☆I own a Samsung S95C running the latest firmware, and unfortunately the SmartThings experience feels like it was never properly tested in real-world use. Some of the most frustrating issues:• After stopping a movie streamed via DLNA, it is often impossible to start another one immediately. The TV or SmartThings appears to block playback for a period of time. This is a basic function that should work reliably.• Pausing a movie can unexpectedly change subtitle settings or switch the subtitle language. This is extremely annoying when watching movies or TV series.• When a SmartThings notification appears on the TV (for example, informing me that the oven has finished preheating), the TV can automatically resume a previously paused movie. Home appliance notifications should never interfere with media playback. The overall impression is that individual features may work on their own, but nobody tested how the entire Samsung ecosystem behaves together. The S95C is a premium TV, yet the SmartThings software experience often feels like a beta product.Samsung makes excellent hardware, but the SmartThings software and ecosystem integration need significant improvements. In its current state, using DLNA together with SmartThings is more frustrating than convenient.

As a long-time user of Samsung products, I decided to use the Samsung SmartThings app, hoping for convenient management of all devices from one place. Unfortunately, my experience with the app has been decidedly negative. The main issues I encounter relate to the app's response time. When I have many devices connected, I often have to wait a very long time for the system to connect to internal servers. I assume this is the reason for the long wait times for the control panel of a device to load. Sometimes the app just freezes, displaying a connection error message. It doesn't matter which internet network I'm connected to – the same problem occurs both at home and at work. I have tried various solutions, such as disconnecting from my home internet and connecting through mobile data, but unfortunately, the app remains very unreliable. There are times when it's faster to find the remote and turn on the device manually than to wait for the app to work properly. In its current state, the Samsung SmartThings app is more frustrating than helpful.I hope that Samsung will soon resolve these issues because the potential of the app is enormous, but currently, its performance leaves much to be desired.
Extremely Disappointing Experience

I’m giving SmartThings one star because the app feels unnecessarily intrusive and overly complicated for tasks that should be simple.First, why does my dryer need access to Wi-Fi just to function properly through the app? A household appliance shouldn’t depend on an internet connection to perform basic smart features, especially when those features could easily work locally.Second, the app demands access to my precise location, which makes no sense for controlling devices inside my own home. There is no clear explanation for why such sensitive data is required, and it feels like an overreach. Finally, there is no simple way to connect devices using NFC or Bluetooth, even though these technologies are perfectly suitable for local communication. Instead, the setup process forces cloud dependency and complicated pairing steps, which makes the entire experience frustrating and unnecessarily difficult.Overall, SmartThings overcomplicates what should be straightforward smart-home management and raises serious questions about privacy and usability. I cannot recommend it.
SmartThings is getting even better.
