The best on the market
Notability is the best note taking app for those who like simplicity and minimalism. It’s so easy to just create a start taking a note.
It’s killer features are: 🎙audio recording, continuous scrolling and automatic shape recognition. Not to mention the most incredible thing the developers have done - the files in the app are so improbably small 😮
In my opinion there are only a few improvements needed to make it a real killer: multiple window feature native to iPad OS (yes, I know you can have two notes opened within the app, but the multiple windows would be better and allow to open even more notes at the same time), the outline feature for long pdf documents and the ability to export that pdf without any annotations done within the app.
Terrible, buy something else because you’ll encounter issues.
I do use notability, bought it years ago and it wasn’t cheap. None of the biggest issues have been fixed since 2018. Apps still is deleting notes and making them inaccessible until they load for some reason. You can’t have two notes with the same name, imagine having multiple courses at a university, not possible to have a note for example called introduction for every subject, it has to be all numbered. If you have 50 courses, you’ll have notes from “introduction 1” to “introduction 50”. Terribly designed. Dividers should be folders. Other is iCloud syncing. I have it off because if you do have it on, you’ll lose all your notes one day. It’s poor design which shouldn’t have been signed on. No redo button. Love the season themes. Another issue, after zooming in on a note and then opening page view, closing it doesn’t go back to the scalling chosen before. Terrible. I also wrote to them years ago, no one ever replied. Now we’re forced ads onto us, although we’re paying users. If my version doesn’t support something, don’t include it.
