Do you remember when you learnt to brush? Neither do we! It turns out, most people don't brush properly.
If you've ever wondered how well you're brushing or if you're reaching every spot, the Philips Sonicare app is here to help. The app brings more clarity, more confidence and more personal insights into your routine.
When you connect your Sonicare toothbrush, you'll unlock personalised coaching designed to help you strengthen your habits and brighten your smile.
Please note that you must have a connected toothbrush to use the app. By connecting to the app, you'll also receive the latest updates to your brushing experience.
Our most advanced toothbrush – the Next-Generation Sonicare DiamondClean 9900 Prestige – harmonises with the app, creating an experience that's smart and supportive, including:
- Real-time guided brushing that helps you feel confident every session
- SenseIQ technology that senses and adapts to you
- Auto-sync so your brushing data stays updated, even when your phone's not around
Your Sonicare app experience will vary depending on which toothbrush you own and where you live:
PREMIUM
- Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 Prestige, Next-Generation DiamondClean 9000, Next-Generation DiamondClean 8500, Next-Generation DiamondClean 8000 and DiamondClean Prestige 9900 — SenseIQ, mouth map, personalised guidance and tips.

In the Sonicare app:
Brushing check-in
You will receive an assessment of your technique after the first time you brush your teeth. This will provide a starting point to track improvements to your oral health routine over time.
Real-time brushing guidance
The Sonicare app checks your habits, like if you're reaching all the areas of your mouth, how long you brush or how much pressure you're using, and coaches you with tailored advice. This coaching helps to ensure consistent, complete coverage every time you brush.
Dental Diary
The Dental Diary helps you track all of your oral health habits in one place – brushing, flossing, tongue cleaning and mouth rinsing – so you can spot trends and build a consistent routine.
Brushing Streak
The Brushing Streak feature helps motivate you to brush at least twice daily – morning and night – as recommended by dentists to prevent plaque build-up.
Dashboard
The Dashboard syncs with your Sonicare toothbrush to collect and display your brushing habits. You receive an easy-to-read report with insights to help support and improve your oral health.
Brush head monitoring
Automatically know when it's time to replace your brush head. Bristles wear out and start losing effectiveness after about three months, so having a fresh replacement ensures the best cleaning.
Automatic brush head reordering service
Always have a fresh brush head when you need one. As the Sonicare app checks your brush head's usage, the reordering service reminds you when you need a replacement, and can automatically place an order so it arrives just in time. The brush head smart reordering service is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Japan.
Connect with Apple Health
When you link the Sonicare app to the Apple Health app, you can track your brushing habits along with the rest of your health data.
when brushing after midnight, that certain session is counted towards the next day. i would appreciate a buffer period, like any brushing session between 00 and 02 AM counts for the previous day. the second option is to change the statistics in the app dashboards. don’t cap the number of sessions per day to 2. then my first paragraph will be irelevant
Developer Response
Thanks — that makes sense. Two suggestions noted:1. Add a buffer so brushing between 00:00–02:00 counts for the previous day.2. Or remove the 2-sessions-per-day cap in the stats/dashboard so late sessions aren’t lost. Please provide app version, device model and region (and account email if you’re willing) so we can pass this to the team.
Brushing Coverage Not Detected
pseres
Most of the time, the app doesn’t register any coverage at all when brushing - even though I brush in exactly the same way as when it detects the coverage. Moreover, for some reason the app also always saves two sessions in the history, with the same timestamp, for each brushing session. It’s very frustrating, as it messes with my statistics. I don’t even know if it’s an HW (toothbrush) or SW (app) defect.UPDATE: According to ChatGPT, the first issue appears when modes other than “Clean” or “White+” are selected (I used “Deep Clean”). “Clean” mode seems to solve at least the first issue, but this is only a workaround.
Developer Response
Thank you for letting us know about your experience with the Sonicare app. We're sorry to hear that it hasn't been positive. The guided brushing feature indeed doesn't work if you use "Deep Clean" mode on your toothbrush. To use the real-time guidance, your toothbrush indeed must be in "Clean" or "White" mode. Your feedback on this is noted. We're aware of the issue with the brushing session being saved twice: it will be resolved as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience in the meantime. If you have any additional questions/suggestions, please contact us on our website or send us a message via social media (Facebook @Philips, X @PhilipsCare). Wishing you a pleasant week.
New app crashes

Last updated 5 of june and the app does not start anymore! Crashes as soon as it opens in less then 1 sec.
Good day,I am writing to suggest a feature for the Sonicare Diamonclean 9900 Prestige companion app. Considering that the toothbrush integrates with the app for functions like changing brushing modes, it would be a great enhancement to add an on/off control button for the toothbrush directly in the user interface. This feature would be very helpful and improve accessibility for users who might find it difficult to press the physical power button on the device itself.
Developer Response
Thank you for letting us know about your experience with the Sonicare app; we appreciate the feedback. We can imagine that it would indeed be convenient if an on/off button was added to the app, so you could choose whether to use this button or the button on the device itself. We're always working to improve our app and will share your suggestion with our development team. We hope that you enjoy using the app and your toothbrush for the rest. If you have any additional questions, please contact us on our website, Facebook (@Philips) or X (@PhilipsCare). Have a good week.
This version includes a redesigned real-time guided brushing experience for Premium Sonicare toothbrushes to perfect your technique and ensure a complete clean. It also supports next-gen Sonicare connected toothbrushes, plus adds performance enhancements and bug fixes.
