Tremendous improvement

If you think Capitaland mall app is bad go try Jem. I constantly get rejected n they take at least 5-7 days to approve your receipt n any rejection or approval is not notified. They give you grace period but you’re informed of the rejection how do you react to them within the grace period to resubmit your receipt in person? I sometimes can’t help but wonder if they are sincere in giving out points. Before this app I used to scan my receipts at the kiosk of the mall and if I forget I have to go back within 2 days. With this new n continuous improvement app all my receipts were captured without a hassle even when it is long. I only have to make sure the store name, final amount, mode of payment, receipt reference & date is captured. My points are granted almost within a few hours max if I uploaded within the same day. Love that you’re notified that your receipt is approved and points captured. Tip: use your own phone camera to take pictures n upload the receipt if you get frustrated with the frame of the app.

I have both Hillion Mall app and Capital Land app and I really wish HM could follow the app of CL. CL app is much more convenient and easy to use. I have absolutely no problem with it. Try The HM one and you will cough blood. Every purchase you make you need to scan a QR quote in the shop and will need help from the shop assistants to key in your purchase value for points updating on their own Handphones and only then you can scan your receipt on their app. It’s a pain in the A**. Imaging Long Qs and busy days at the shops. Totally defeats the purpose of having a phone app. Discouraging their customers to shop with them.

Privacy Issue: No Option to disable photo access

On iOS 18, ALLOW CAPITASTAR TO ACCESS Photos is set to ‘Private Access’. There are no other options? However. on iOS 15, there are 3 options: 1) Selected Photos, 2) All Photos, 3) None. Can you bring back the ‘None’ option? Understand Private Access is the same as Selected Photos, I dont need to submit any image or ever need to use. Feel back door is opened with ‘Private access’. None option is padlock digital lock door closed. Have deleted app on iOS 18 and if None is not back will consider not use anymore. Oh please cut and paste my comments here onto the form that you had asked many users to fill up. Save you time to type many words, thank you :)

Disappointing Update – Outdated and Restrictive

In trying to move forward with technology, CapitaStar has somehow gone backwards. At a time when most people use multiple credit cards via mobile wallets, it is frustrating that rewards can now only be earned through a single registered card and worse, only with the physical version.To make things more inconvenient, many merchants are pushing customers to order and pay through their own apps. Even when alternative payment modes are technically allowed, some merchants outright reject ShopBack if the items are on promotion or have withdrawn from accepting the payment mode.Overall, the new system is restrictive, impractical, and poorly aligned with how people actually shop today. With some shops available at non-CapitalLand Malls, it won’t be surprising for consumers to shop elsewhere.

To clarify, you can use Apple/ Samsung Pay if it is linked the same credit card that is linked to your CapitaStar app. The only exception is UOB Mastercard, if you are using UOB Mastercard, we recommend that you pay with your physical card at the cashier terminal to earn STAR$. As for the linked cards, we currently allow 2 linked cards. We value your continued support and understand your concerns about the switch to Mastercard and cashless payments. Please know we're actively exploring more ways for members to earn STAR$ across various payment methods beyond the current 4 methods. Thank you.
