The app is easy to use, has many great features, and arguably the most useful app in Indonesian market. However the app does not have an important feature that competitors have: chat and call function. It’s true that GO-JEK has sms and call functionalities, but it invokes the stock ones, not from the app directly. Not only does it not save money (because of the cost related to sending text messages and placing calls) and thus contradicts what this application is supposed to do, but it also makes life difficult for those who register their account with non-Indonesian number, such as myself. I know the app is catered for Indonesian market, but it should give some leeway for those who reside abroad as well.

It’s be great if developers can implement call and chat features right in the app itself, to further save money both from passenger’ and driver’ sides. Please copy what Grab does.

Extremely bad driver service and inaccurate ETA

Worst driver manner & bad service quality. Driver forced me off car and cancelled my ride 25min into booking. After booking, App showed 11min driver eta. However, it was more than 11min. When app showed 4min, I started going towards pick up point, and after 2min driver suddenly sent out arrival notification to me. I immediately rushed over and arrived at pick up point within 10 seconds of receiving the notification. However, driver alr left due to cars behind him. He called, he was rude and impatient in his tone, and blamed me for how he had to make a big round (6min) to come back, when actually there was a much shorter router (1min) to u-turn back. I waited, and when I got on, he continued to rage and complain non-stop, I tried explaining nicely I got there right after getting the notification. He went on to argue I wasted his time and that I should apologise to him, which I reframed from joining the argument. He suddenly u-turned back to pick up point, forced me to alight, and cancelled my ride. I wasted almost 30min waiting for and entertaining him, and had to book another ride in the end. I was late for my appointment, and very disappointed at Gojek’s driver standard and app eta accuracy

Cancellation fee?

First of all, I specifically put my exact location on the app. However the location turned on for gojek was not accurate. This causes the location be switched to some where near the location we were at but not the exact location we wanted. I only found out when the driver had already arrived. There was not hotline to help solve the issue. My family had an urgent matter to attend to and the issue could be solved by driving towards our exact location which takes less than around a min. The driver told me that he could not change the location he was at, as he might get suspended if he drove to a location that takes around a minute to get to? Where as walking towards there might take about 10mins. I think it is very ridiculous to charge us 4 dollar for a cancellation fee. Where obviously it is the problem with the gojek app. The issue could be solve without any hassle but with this app obviously there is. Hope u gojek can include a feature where we can call the customer service with not just a pre recorded guideline. Which is not very helpful and does not help resolve much problem like this.
