Hackers

My friend and I have been playing since 2015. However, we stopped last year as my friend’s account was hacked TWICE.
This is how it happened:
One night, we left the game and said goodnight to each other before ending the call. But the next day, when she logged on, she found that most of her rare items in her inventory went missing. She didnt want me to quit the game just because of her, so she created another account and tried again. The same thing happened. But this time, her worlds were also destroyed by someone even though it had a world lock on it, and the only person that can access the world is me.
After that, she stopped playing. She mentioned that she doesn’t trust it anymore. So, I had to delete the game since we werent playing.
But recently, I reinstalled the game and tried again. I remember that my friend gave me lots of rare items, including a unicorn pet. But when i quit the game, i left all my items in a world that I owned but left the world lock on so i could find them again if i decide to rejoin.
However, when i went back after reinstalling, the items were not there, and the world lock was gone!
I didnt know what happened, but someone definitely broke into my world, and stole both my items and rare lock.
Now I have to start from scratch. Without my friend’s help.

I have been playing this game for 5 years now, I quit for around 2 years and continued playing about a year ago. It brought back so many fond memories from my childhood, the trouble I got into because of playing the game, everything. I remember setting a goal to get focused eyes by the end of 2016, when I used to enjoy the game so much. And then yesterday, I found a world with the stuff I have been working so hard for for the past year locked, 55 growtokens missing, and if you have been hacked, you know how it feels. Your face reddens, but there’s nothing much you can do, nothing much you can hope for. I quit the game the same hour. I returned to playing because I remembered how much fun it was, to relive the joy, not to feel heartfelt pain I have rarely ever felt. But that’s how it is for so many players. Though this is my first time getting hacked, I found it was not worth trying to start over, 3 years of progress, so I found it was better to move on. Sometimes that’s just what you have to do to get over the reality that there are horrible people out there. All you can do is to do your best to avoid them. I hope people who have been playing the game for years remain safe, and I hope the people who share a similar experience take this as a stepping stone, an understanding that these things are bound to happen in our lives. Growtopia, thanks for the memories

Too many scams and hackers.

As a growtopia veteran, I have had many accounts that have been repeatedly hacked. I’ve quit this game for a few months now and it is about time I write down a review. Firstly, I would not say the game is bad. The servers have been improved (that does not
mean they are good) and more mods are active to ban hackers. However, when reporting a hacker or a scammer, you would have to write about why are you reporting him/her. Instead, I suggest that you should have choices such as “cheating” or “scamming”. Furthermore, I have seen people get banned for swearing. I don’t understand why this is happening as there is an option in the settings to “censor vulgar language”. It shows that moderators are not well-trained and this will cause the game to be less-safe. Lastly, I suggest the banning of phrases such as “claim your free prize at ———-“. Just by simply banning this phrase, you can make the game much more safer for younger children that could fall for scams easily. Hackers, however, I understand are hard to catch. This means that there should be coding to check how fast a player gets from one point to another.
