MINDEF/SAF ESS 4+

My first ever app review written because of how bad this app is.
Even logging in is a pain, where the user is frequently met with lagging screens or the occasional ‘we can’t find the page you’re trying to access’. Better yet there’s a higher likelihood you’ll log in when they are having a system maintenance.

After logging in. Navigating is ok. But applying for anything is so buggy. For Transport claim the drop-down box has no options for me to select in a compulsory field. Then how am I supposed to submit anything??

Been in service for more than a year and seems like their constant system maintenance had done little to no improvement other than causing more trouble for the user. Better yet they sometimes do system maintenance for both NS portal and this ESS app, ceasing all user access to any claims or leave applications.

Help la….both websites like us NSFs..where got time to be interested?? Maybe both will need 7x extra to wake up their ideas.

EDIT: the app works now! I’m pleased to see the devs actually worked on it and now it works fine and dandy. Keep up the good work! It is good news that those involved in the app is listening to feedback and working on it. Thank you

I am writing this in response to me attempting to submit my MC ess got the past 5 days. It hasn’t worked once. Every time I log in, it shows a loading circle and gives the impression that something is working. To give the app the benefit of doubt, i let it load but it still hasn’t loaded even after 15 minutes. Nothing works and it’s so frustrating because it is as though no thought was put into this app and just hastily made by some nsf as a side task and that nsf orded. Please do something about this. As much as people doing NS are willing to put in effort to do their everyday tasks, the dev team of this forsaken app should realise how subpar this app is and fix it.

Gone were the days where one needs to have access to intranet in office to apply for leaves and claims. Those who knows will understand the pain. With ESS apps, it has made our live so much more efficient, whereby we can do the claims at home! It save so much time! Can understand some frustrations on the app lag, but hey, it’s a huge step forward already. Over time, I am pretty sure things will turn out fine! Kudos to the team!
