This game is great I’ve been playing nonstop the past week or 2 and it’s basically everything I’ve ever wanted in a game but what’s killing the fun is after awhile I started noticing the game crashes or just breaks for several different actions/ random encounters. These crashes weren’t an issue when I first began playing but now I can’t go 10 mins without the game crashing cause I wanted to fire a weapon. I found a fix but it’s not exactly a satisfactory, you’d have to start a new character to avoid these bugs that plagues your previous character. Now I just wanted to say i know it’s a long shot from here but I’d really like an update for the game, i know it’s been around 3 years since they last updated it so it’s likely an abandoned project but if y’all are still sticking around y’all could give us this last update that fixes several bugs I’m sure have already fixed in the web version of the game it’d be awesome. Despite the bugs, I do still enjoy the game, I’ve even recommended it to a few of my friends just have to work on these issues and the experience would be 200x better.

If you like dwarf fortress, you’ll enjoy this. Think DF adventurer mode. You set parameters for your world including monster spawn rates, loot rates, nods, etc. then you creat your character, there’s a multitude of scenarios for added challenge, professions for different skills (from survivor to bionic soldier to used car salesman to clown to firefighter and more), give them traits and flaws, adjust your stats, and add points to your skills. You then spawn in the scenario of your choice and the world is your oyster. The game has an in-depth and “practical” crafting system, health system, equipment/clothing layering, vehicles, and more. Combat is relatively simple and I wish that you could be more strategic such as targeting specific areas.The game is still in development so it’s not without its flaws. Unfortunately, it seems like the iOS version has not been in updated for years, it’s not a supported version by the creator. If you enjoy this, check out the pc/Mac version. It’s got more features and bug fixes than the iOS version. I’ve spent weeks playing this game, it’s very punishing but risk doesn’t come without reward.

I've been playing this for a week now and I can't seem to stop going back to it. It should be on top charts still but I guess I understand why it's not. The controls are a bit funny but I guess that's what you have to accept when you create a mobile game that's based on the pc version with all the buttons intact.And I guess it gets annoying after you have to keep pulling the keyboard up and than glancing at the instructions on which button to press to do what. My main problem is and it's not a big one. The driving is terrible, You will always end up crashing it into something because of the controls seemed laggy. It just impossible to drive on the mobile game when the screen is half sized next to the info board compared to a much larger screen. Also you can't go too far without encounter zombies that will reck you if you take one more step in their direction. The game is great, and if there is an option to turn of zombies for a day that wouldn't hurt really. So yeah 4/5

CataclysmDDA is a fantastic game. It definitely has a learning curve, and you really need the wiki to learn to play it. You can construct a ton of stuff, and do a ton of stuff. The negative things about this game is that 1. This port is years out of date compared to the far superior PC version. 2. The game is intended to be played with a PC. keyboard. Because of this, the touch controls are klunky. I can’t think of a way to improve or change this though. 3. The font and tilesets are EXTREMELY small on an iPhone. If you have poor eyesight, the game is near unreadable. Everything is way too tiny. I would say that unless you have great eyesight, or don’t mind squinting to read text, or see the graphics, I probably wouldn’t recommend this game on a smaller iPhone. This game would benefit from having some type of screen zooming or magnifying feature. But since this game hasn’t been updated in years, I doubt that anything like this will ever come. This game would obviously look much better on a larger screen, like an iPad. On my iPhone 6s, everything is really too small for me to see. Another problem that I’m constantly running into is that for some reason, the game keeps saying, “External keyboard detected” and it pops up the iphone, on screen, keyboard. And then the keyboard gets stuck on the screen. I can’t get it to go away when this happens. It’s happening so much that it’s making the game unplayable. I’m wondering if this might be the result of an iOS update or something that created some kind of incompatibility with this game. Since the game is abandoned and hasn’t been updated in years, there is a good chance that this is the case. I don’t recall this ever happening before. Six years with no update is a very long time for an app that’s on a system that gets an updated OS every other month.
