I started using this app 3-4 months ago. I had been looking for an app that would make me feel more secure as a middle-aged woman who lives alone. There are times where I go days and weeks without speaking to a family member or friend. I also work from home, and I have multiple pets. The thought of me dropping dead for some random reason, and then my dogs subsequently starving to death, or whatever other ungodly things that take place when someone passes at home alone, etc… But, now, I have this handy dandy app that I check in with every day. And, if I don’t check in, my emergency contacts will get a text message from the app to inform them I’ve gone rogue. I feel exponentially “safer” knowing I have this fail proof, back up system that ensures someone will be notified to come and check on my and my animals. The app also sends multiple reminders so that you don’t forget to check in. At any rate, I highly recommend this app. It’s incredibly easy to use, and it gives me a peace of mind that I would not have otherwise. Thanks, Snug!!!

Living by yourself can be exciting, fun as well as work. You’re entirely responsible for your apartment, home, etc. It also means that you always need to be aware, safe and responsible. What if you happen to trip on a loose carpet when you first got up this morning and injured yourself or possibly worse - are unconscious. Who would know? With Snug you will check-in online on a daily basis at a pre-set time that you set. This takes literally seconds. And if you miss checking in at the time you have designated, a contact which you selected - such as a family member or close friend or a favorite neighbor - will receive an online notification from Snug that you have missed your check-in time. You control when you check-in and who you prefer Snug to contact should you miss your check-in time which you set for yourself. It’s simple to set up and definitely worth giving Snug a try.

I have been using Snug since my new senior housing facility did not have much of an emergency 🆘, and inquired on Google for something to fit the bill so to speak. I found this app on the Apple App Store and felt it would handle what I was concerned about. ‘Let me tell you, it does’. I one time forgot (in the beginning) to check in (I have the premium service @ $99/yr), and I have my brother listed as a Contact person. They called him, he called me, they called me, would call 911 shortly if I didnt respond NOW! My Time Limit was set at 12 Noon, I reported in at 12:02pm. So, I now have changed from 00:01-11:59am to check in daily, to 00:01-13:30, or 12:01am to 1:30pm daily. I now check in mostly mid mornings. It’s good to have, works in all of contiguous 48 states, where ever your cell phone is located. BTW, age 84 and now a widower.

I’ve been using the free version, which has all the features I need at the moment. Thanks! I’m sure I will need the paid / premium version at some point :)The one huge glitch is that the app apparently does not recognize a change in the time zone. I live on the West Coast but went to Hawai’i to house sit for two months. I verified within the app that the time zone was changed to HST and was no longer set on PST. I left the check-in time limit set at 10:00 every morning. However, the app began notifying me three hours too early at 4 a.m. that it was time to check in. At 6 a few mornings I got the warning message asking me if I was OK. And then one morning I slept late and it called my contacts at 7 a.m. It is three hours earlier in Hawai’i. The app does not recognize changes in the time zone - even when set to a new time zone. I did send screenshots of this issue to SNUG support but did not receive a resolution. Maybe in the next update?
