The T-Mobile® Direct Connect® app brings push-to-talk (PTT) communications to Apple smartphones and iPads. The T-Mobile Direct Connect app enables push-to-talk communications with Direct Connect devices including best-in-class features such as 1-to-1 Direct Connect calling and Group Connect calling all with the convenience of touchscreen controls.
T-Mobile Direct Connect services should be added onto your T-Mobile lines of service before attempting to activate the application.
Please make sure to turn on and allow location/GPS, access to contacts, and push notifications.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
It’s perfect for what it’s intended purpose is;; I do miss the old Nextel’s but I guess you gotta move with technology. Hopefully T-Mobile will keep this app going.. 🤞🏼 Thanks to the developers for creating and bringing back a great “old-school” tool for quick communication! 🙏🏼

There’s a constant connectivity issue where sometimes my phone will connect to the other user on the same account and when that happens the other user can NOT connect back once the connection has timed out and viscera. All the settings settings on the app preferences are correct as instructed, including having “Background Refresh” set to on and “allow location access” set to always. This app needs fixing.

They have nothing but people outside of America answering when you tell them you want to sign up for Direct connect. They said oh that’s only for a business so they don’t know what you’re talking about. They don’t care to know what you’re talking about T-Mobile’s gotten to be really bad last since 2020. I think it’s about time to move to some other network.

Old school Nextel user I’ve missed PTT particularly group PTT that is carrier grade and reliable. Now on my 5G phone it’s better than ever. Text less and get right to the point with the chirp!
T-Satellite Data Support – We got you covered, and we want you to always be connected. When in Satellite mode the app will display “Connected to Satellite” on the main screen. Supported at this time are Push-to-X Messages, so you can send and receive messages including pictures, videos, files, audio clips and location. The on-screen PTT button changes to the voice messaging button and audio will be recorded and sent as a voice message. Emergency alerting with location reporting is supported as well as Operational Status Messaging (OSM).
