I absolutely love this app. While it’s weird that the reminder for the reading comes at 5 AM every day, it does guarantee that I’ll see it as soon as I get up, and I can easily leave the notification there as a reminder. The next great thing is that when you click one of your readings for the day, it takes you directly to the YouVersion Bible app if you already have it (not sure if it does this for other Bible apps, never tried), which is obviously very convenient.Once you set your start date for the plan, you can change it at any time, which allows for some human error in not finishing Bible readings for the day.The app also has you “mark as completed” at the end of each day, which is very satisfying.Cool story: My Bible reading used to be kinda spontaneous. First I was going through the Old Testament in a year, and at some point I decided to add in reading a chapter of the New Testament every day. I decided to download this app, so that I would have my plan laid out for me and be more motivated to complete it. Despite the complete unpredictability of how I had been reading the Bible before, the reading for that day perfectly lined up with the random places I was in the Old and New Testament. Later I’ve been able to see how that was truly a sign of God’s intervening, because this app has helped me connect to Him throughout the day and actually read the Bible every day.

I love this idea & as a Christian I am/was eager to read the Bible in a consistent & organized fashion. I was even way ahead in my reading. HOWEVER . . . . When several weeks out of the country (& offline) interfered, I returned to find myself a month & more behind & here’s what I discovered: °You cannot easily go back to this last completed lesson. You must scroll back day by day by day by day. Worse…. °You cannot complete that previous lesson & go on to the next….. the Yearly App has jumped back to the current day again! (Scroll, baby scroll!) °It does no good to Delete & reinstall Yearly because then it starts over with Genesis & you have the opposite problem; hit “Read” & “Complete” for every single Day, Week & Month you’ve already done until you reach the present date! (I started January 1!) This is incredibly clumsy, unworkable & non intuitive. The Developers need to provide a way to navigate to the lesson one is on, was on, wants to be on, is ready to be on, or, perhaps even wants to review. This heavy handed, mindless, date-controlled system is unusable. Only the unwillingness to start another system & repeat over 300+ pages again keeps me from dumping Yearly & finding an alternative without giving the Developers an opportunity to respond. (While I’m not a Biblical scholar, I’m not quite certain what the connection is between the Old Testament readings & the New Testament readings. Why not read the Old Testament & then begin the New Testament? It would go faster, get you through the history & basis before starting in on the Christian theology.

Have been enjoying this app while starting to read the Bible for the first time - start to finish. Readings are broken down into manageable portions with both the Old & New Testament, ability to add notes to the days readings and check the readings off when done. Just a nice simple app to keep me on track. No Bible? No problem - just install YouVersion and you can open the daily readings directly from Yearly in YouVersion (makes it easy to complete the daily readings anywhere)! Had a question for the developer, and he responded very quickly and answered my question. Overall I’m extremely pleased with this app! Extra plus - no ads to detract from the app or distract from readings. This is THE reading plan to download.

I have tried reading the entire bible for years only going so far before stopping. The previous version I used was difficult to read making it difficult to retain what I read. In February I felt myself sinking into a slow depression because all of the things going on in the world was overwhelming me. I then decided to start using Yearly and my NIV version bible to read the bible in a year and what a difference it has made in my life. I start everyday with my daily reading and it gets my day started with a calm spirit. The male reader is excellent ! His voice is very calming. The proper pronunciation of the biblical names and cities is an added bonus. I will share this experience with my frinds and family !
