- Make adjustments on the fly. If dinner is ready but you’re not, add a holding stage to your cook so your food remains at its best.
- Create multi-stage recipes. Most foods have multiple cooking goals, like achieving juicy meat and crispy skin. Separate your cooking into multiple oven stages to optimize for each goal, like the pros do. With full control over oven functions and the ability to transition automatically based on timer or probe targets, true multi-stage, combi cooking is finally available for home cooks.
- View your cook history. It’s like having a DVR for your Oven — recipes and manual cooking sessions are automatically saved to your history, making it easy to revisit your favorites.

As a person that who is blind, such as myself, that the app still needs work in terms of being in sync with the display and touchscreen are saying. Furthermore, if I want to cook my own recipe for the first time, that there should be instructions on how to set it up! For example, I understand that there are recipes for how to sous vide hamburger patties, that which you can do in the oven itself, but that what if you also want to sear them in the oven? The two times I have cooked chicken in it, the chicken came out nice and juicy! And salmon, too easy! I don’t even need to see that! I can just steam it and that then within 20 minutes, on a better rice, so good!on the display/touchscreen on the oven, it may show a display or a picture of a cloud, that which just means that the water tank is full, but on the app, it will say that the water tank is empty and to please fill it up to the filling line. Once again that the app needs to say the same thing, that the display/touchscreen says on the oven!
Early Oven Investor

We are fairly early investors in the Anova Oven. While not a professional chef, I do a lot of home cooking. Food typically comes out tasty when using this oven. I think it really shines when roasting vegetables. After about two years, the probe started to go, so we needed to get a new one. Also, it has started making a funny noise when initially turned on, which lasts for about 10 seconds.I love being able to see the current temperature as the oven warms up. I think that helps with planning. Some features that I wish that it had include the ability to turn the oven light on from the handle instead of having to open the app. I also wish that you could set the cook to stop automatically when the time is up, instead of you having to manually stop it. There are some things that I know I don’t want to continue cooking and I can’t be watching the oven or the app that closely. Additionally, I find that the play button on the oven handle isn’t always reliable. It’s tricky to push it at the exact moment to get the timer to start rather than shutting the entire oven off or advancing to the next stage.
Life changing

Rarely write reviews. Know my way around a kitchen. I love the anova so much that I have two ovens. From moist banana bread, the best salmon, perfect steaks ready for cast iron searing, a side of easy vegetables, homemade yogurt, and the best sticky toffee pudding *ever* … there are no words. The app is great, updated frequently, there are fan groups on Reddit/FB if you need them. My only gripe is that I still haven’t figured out a way to descale it without a puddle but that is infrequent and this is still one of my favorite appliances. When we renovated our kitchen, we decided to forgo the large lux ovens because traditional ovens seem imminently outdated - a $10k Viking now looks like a vanity real estate signaling flex, even in a well-appointed kitchen. I think many pause on “What about Thanksgiving?” We did brined birds in the anova for the last two Thanksgivings we hosted - no problem. You would never guess that the next mini-wave of tech could be ovens but sincerely, the impact this oven has had on my life has been hands-down revolutionary.
App is good - would like to see a few mods

I really do like this app. There was a bit of a learning curve in adding my own cooks. Still have problems but I figure it out eventually. I only wish that there was a way to sort them. I’d like to be able to alphabetize instead of the latest entry going on top. Being able to move them around would be sweet. Other things on my wish list … 1. Turning the fan off during steam. I’m a sourdough baker. The fan doesn’t seem to help the initial steam bake. In fact, I find there isn’t enough steam for the first part of the bake. Maybe due to the fan and also the high oven temp evaporating quite a bit of steam before it reaches the dough. (See #3 below)2. I’d like to be able to turn the light on while the oven is off. Sometimes the heat generated from the lamp is enough to proof my dough. 3. Also, next generation model of the oven, move the steam release location to above the first position rack. Steam generated below this rack doesn’t allow for great distribution when you’re using the baking steel made for this oven, or anything else that covers the entire rack. Because of this my baking steel has been relegated for pizza, or something else that doesn’t require steam. Had I thought about this sooner I wouldn’t have purchased this steel but would have found another option FIRST … like a cast iron griddle that fits the oven and allows for steam to circulate all around it. I know this has nothing to do with the app but I thought I’d put it out there anyway, as the steaming to bake my sourdough was the number 1 reason I wanted this oven.
