General Review -I’ve been playing with DrumAp for about 2 months now. The audio libraries are nicely preserved and have a “warm” sound. While you won’t be using this for professional production, the easy to use Controls makes it perfect for banging out a scratch track. Highlights include a broad selection of instruments to choose from, easy export to mp3, sheet music with custom section headers and the Price! I started with the free version to get a sense of the app, but soon converted to the .99 subscription. For playing around and visualizing your patterns the free version was certainly sufficient. For Capoeira -Most importantly the berimbaus sound good, are tuned to each other and have both open and pull-off version of the low/“Dom” note (for all three berimbaus.) It’s easy to make loops and to set custom loop parameters if you want to repeat an 8 or 16 bar measure, instead of the default 4.What I am using this for specifically is to create mp3 audio examples of the Toques with recordings of specific rhythm breaks. Using DrumAp I can give my students audio examples of what we are training in class, sheet music and a background track for them to practice at home with. This is awesome because usually 80% of new content is lost as soon as class is over. Now I can teach a class and give my students an audio reference of *exactly* what I want them to practice at home. And, the background track acts as a metronome so they can keep time as they practice.

Music and finding our groove is is an essential part of how we learn to feel who we are, who we can become, and how we can connect with each other. As a Capoeira practioner since 1999, this app is a technology and learning tool that I have never encountered before. The developer of this app collaborated/consulted with some of the most authentic Capoeira teachers/Mestres/educators and the result is unbelievable! Not only that, but this tool will keep getting better and better the more we use and explore what Drumap has to offer. If I could rate this app 100 stars I would!

Amazing app! I really do love it and see the huge potential in it, although it’s bugged a tiny bit so I’m just going get on to my complaints.PLEASE fix the bug with the accents, the accents literally don’t work, they work at first but once you save and exit the score and then return, the accents are gone and it’s so annoying. Also please make it easier to make accented beats, it’s mad annoying having to click them individually.Also just personal preference, but I don’t like the sound of the new Tom drum, the old one sounded clearer, but that’s just a bit pick. Tysm! I love this app just please fix the accents! (I had written a review alr but I don’t think it saved so yeah)

The App Store is saturated with apps that say they do some sort of drum notation but fall vastly short of a desirable mobile solution. Drumap sets itself apart from this by actually doing what it says it will do. It’s a great tool for writing quick ideas on the go while not at your kit, workshopping grooves and fills, and/or writing instruction material for drumming students. I can’t express enough how much this tool has helped me on my drumming journey. Do yourself a favor and download it now.
