I’m probably saying this wrong, but this is an awesome port. It did crash once on me, but I haven’t had anything like that happen again. As a previous review stated you can download mods from github and upload them to your files. I personally downloaded a few tile sets. The only complaint I have (and it is so minor, but to me fundamental) is the ui. I think it’s good for new players considering that this game can be overwhelming at first, but it back fires a bit. Hear me out, all I’m saying is that it overlaps the game screen. What I mean is, sometimes I want to see an option or read an item, but the ui covers bits of the screen and I have to use deductive reasoning to figure out what I’m reading. I know you can turn it off, I kind of prefer it on a cell phone. I guess if I could make one wish for a change it’s the ability to make the ui smaller or maybe make the whole thing shadowy like the directional controls. That’s it all in all this is a very good up to date port and it’s great to see that this game isn’t dead for Iphone

The panning and zooming are just fantastic. I now prefer playing on iPad to playing on my laptop, just because it’s so much easier to look around on iPad now. Amazing work. Can’t wait to see what’s next!*Original review*If you’re here reading these reviews, chances are you already know what CDDA is, so I won’t waste your time talking about the game.What needs to be lauded is the developer’s quiet inclusion of Files support in his port to iOS. Do you play on PC already? Do you have a favorite tileset, soundpack, or mod? Use the Files app by itself or in conjunction with iCloud Drive to install those favorite things right into CDDAs usual file structure. It’s all visible right there in Apple’s Files app.BRAVO! I’m playing with @‘s soundpack and MSXUndeadPeople on my iPad! This is ridiculous, and I love it.iPad users would do well to get themselves a Bluetooth keyboard with a numeric keypad. I had one laying around, and now I’m playing CDDA on my iPad in exactly the same way I would be playing on my PC - but with the convenience and portability of a tablet. I’m so glad to see this game on the apple play store and it works perfectly fine and it’s easy to use this is on of the best Open world rougelike Zombie games out here right now and it’s on a freaking iPhone now i’m definitely going to keep this app on my iPhone for good man I can’t thank you enough for bringing this game to apple pIay store but I was wondering if your gonna add Dead people Tileset or is it a way to get it?I’ve been waiting to play dead_people again I was extremely when I saw this So I downloaded this app thinking I was gonna play with this tileset once again but if you know how to get it back please let me know And thank you 🙏 for this truly amazing game

Cataclysm DDA is one of my favorite games all-time, and this is a much welcomed port. While the UI isn’t the easiest to use, I feel that’s more a symptom of the complex controls of the game rather than anything else. With some practice, you can play more than smoothly enough for an enjoyable experience.I’ve had the other IOS port installed on my phone for a long time, but I very rarely opened it. The game version on that one is incredibly out of date, and the UI is far more difficult to use than this one. No disrespect to the developer of the other port, I’m incredibly grateful they decided to upload it even with all the associated fees and troubles of the IOS App Store, but this one is leagues above the old one.While I have yet to do so, the fact that you can install mods and tilesets and such is an incredible feature. While CDDA is a fun game on its own, to me it’s draw comes from the plethora of modded content that provides even more replayability than the base game already offers.I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people talking about this wonderful port. If I weren’t lucky, who knows how long it would have taken me to find this?For those of you reading this who might be unfamiliar with CDDA itself, I cannot recommend it enough. It has a very steep learning curve, and the graphics are someone distracting to the uninitiated, but it is really an incredible game worth every second you’ll put into it. And believe me, you’ll put quite a few in.To the developer, thank you for putting your time into developing this port. While I’m pretty sure it’s against TOS for you to post a donation link on the App Store, is there any sort of profile of yours I could find that might just so happen to have a link for donations?? I’d be willing to pay to help support you in keeping this port up to date and functional.
