5-star content. App improving but with limitations. Would like CarPlay integration.

I appreciate the frequent updates and significant improvements made to this app over the past few years. As a PC RAP subscriber since 2017 (and EM RAP listener before that), the app really has come a long way since I started using it. However, it still has some frustrating features — frequently having to re-sign in from the app erroneously thinking that my subscription had expired, episodes re-starting in the wrong place after being paused, and issues with played episodes not being marked as complete — to name a few. The search feature is also not as useful as I’d like; I often failed when trying to use it to review content I’d remembered hearing for clinical decision aids at the point of care. My biggest frustration (and the reason I just let my subscription lapse) is that, ironically, it’s become less convenient for me to actually listen to the episodes as the app has improved. I really only listen while commuting to and from work, and it was much easier for me to do this when we could subscribe to individual account feeds and listen through Apple Podcasts. Integrating CarPlay support to allow for a dedicated CarPlay app would solve this problem for me, so I hope that is considered by the developers.Overall, this is a promising app with an improving user interface that still lacks functionality.

Good content; buggy app

I think the podcast content is great. However, since the launch of the new app, I’ve had nothing but problems. I know the developers have been slowly working on fixes, but it’s been months and months and there are still major issues that make it completely unusable at times for me.I do most of my listening offline with downloaded content. Unfortunately, it’s not infrequent that I’m not even able to launch the app when offline as it gets stuck at a questionnaire screen and then the app crashes. Additionally, when offline, if I click on an episode to play it launches a completely different episode, and there’s no way to select a specific episode except by skipping forward or backward on tracks until I get to the one I want. If my phone goes from offline to wifi while playing (or the other way around), it stops the episode that is currently playing and jumps to another screen, which is quite annoying. It frequently does not save my listening progress when offline. Please fix these problems, developers, and I’ll give you 5 stars because the podcast content is great (if only the app worked to access it easily)!

App needs to be fixed, but content is great

App works ok. There are three things I have noticed that could make it much better. First, the app should allow you to add entire episodes to your library instead of just individual chapters. Second, I wish you could sort the episodes. I just bought the subscription and started with episode one, but every time I have to scroll all the way down to the beginning episodes every time I open the app. Being able to sort starting from the beginning would be nice for people who are starting from the beginning. Third, adding chapters to the library is buggy and doesn’t work half the time. If these things were fixed it would be a 5. Content is fantastic.

I subscribe to PC and UC RAP and really like the Hippo Education content. However, I absolutely hate this app. I listen in short stretches, like driving for 5-10 minutes to work. When I start playing, the audio will switch between chapters, but the screen stays on the initial chapter for which I started playing. If I want to go to the currently playing chapter, like to look at the chapter summary, I have to go back and then select the chapter that's playing, but it won't realize that I'm half way through and will restart the chapter. I spend way too much time figuring out what I was last listening to, both chapter and location in chapter. I've deleted and reinstalled the app, made sure background refresh is on, but nothing helps. Using this app feels like a chore. Like any audio or podcast app it should visually advance with the audio and keep track of where I am, but it does not. 5 stars for content and 1 star for app.
