The OMBE program was an absolute game-changer for me. While I've had in-person surf lessons over the years, yet I was still making some critical mistakes. The instruction from the OMBE videos provided explanations that fixed my most significant many-year errors, including:1. Jumping up, not stepping up. Stepping up has far more control.2. Paddling too hard, being a bit on the shoulder, making for much worse takeoffs than if I had just gone maybe a bit deeper to find the "Bus Stop."3. Stress paddling for waves, partly due to mistake number 2, resulting in inefficient wave catching.Overall, I found the OMBE program excellent for providing clear, sensible explanations for the proper techniques, along with a plan to do land exercises.If you can combine the OMBE program with videos of yourself, then you'll make dramatic progress. I recently got the OMBE program to study on a surf trip to Awera and Kandui Resort in Mentawai, Indonesia. The OMBE Accelerated Surf Program has great content and analogies. Coaching is about knowledge transfer and Clayton has a nack for making a movement and posture relatable so you can feel/understand the movement and adopt it into your surfing. Front-On, lunge and coffee cup (I don’t drink coffee, but relate to the coffee cup idea) have changed the way I think about surfing. Compression and rotation have been game changers as well. And the last aspect I’ll mention here is understanding the power zone, water flow on the face, and using gravity over body contortions to generate speed.
