We love this app, but the latest update has seemed to cause it to crash. It won’t even open or attempt to open any longer. Please fix so we can keep using it!
Very poor interface and functionality
M Sanabani
After using both Shift4 and Clover for payment processing, the difference in mobile app quality is night and day. Shift4’s mobile app has a very poor interface and functionality. The layout is confusing, the design feels outdated, and routine tasks like refunds or sales reports are buried in unintuitive menus. The app is also glitchy — frequent crashes and slow response times make it unreliable during busy hours. In contrast, Clover’s mobile app is much more polished. It offers a clean, user-friendly interface, faster load times, and far better stability. Tasks that take multiple clicks in Shift4 are done in seconds with Clover. If mobile access and ease of use matter to your business, Clover is hands down the better choice. Shift4 needs serious improvement to compete in today’s mobile-first environment.
It gets worse

It’s very limited app to begin with and the information is good but rigid and gives a small picture. Does not even show the actual numbers like the total sales for the day is $2.0 but it tell you how many orders at lest. The worst thing is every time they update it, it’s worse. Like they do it on purpose. For example, after the latest “update” it shows half the days with zero sales which skew the numbers for the week and month. Like it doesn’t connect to the database or its queries comes empty and no check or validation on the data. Display their development process is short on planning and testing. They push it out without any validation that they didn’t break the couple good functionalities it had. Awful
It’s ok but we deserve better

I don’t depend on the app as much as my computer, so I haven’t explored much into it. But what I have seen has been pitiful. You can’t hide or customize graphs. The trends line has a bug where I can see last weeks on this weeks sales, and when I swipe back to last week half of my trend line is gone because the app thinks there’s no sales for half the week before. I feel like these are simple fixes but idk. I just expected more
