I’m a huge fan of Goodable and their team’s mission. We all know that it’s important to keep up with a wide variety of current events to stay informed, but that doesn’t mean only staying informed of events that make traditional headlines. It’s equally vital, I think, to find a platform that reminds us about the good in the world — the parts of humanity that should be celebrated and cherished. Goodable’s team is dedicated to making sure everyday heroes get their due, something that should be applauded and appreciated.

While it’s perfectly fine to be aware of what’s happening in the world, it can also be quite harmful to let the negativity consume you. It’s a welcomed change to have nothing but positivity to read when opening up a news source. This app is great for that. I’m happy I found it. However, I soon noticed a bug - upon opening the app, it shows the Goodable logo for a sec then opens the front page. If I try to click on any of the categories I’ve chosen before the main home page has fully loaded, it crashes the app. Not a deal breaker but it can be annoying. Hopefully that gets addressed soon. Other than that though, a great app for a dose of positivity.

I tried to break my addiction to “normal news” for many years but was never successful for very long. Not only was I hooked on the negative stories, but reading the news gave me something to do during my idle time. It started to take a serious toll on my mental health and I knew I had to make a change. After switching to Goodable a couple of months ago I haven’t looked back. Some articles inspire me, others make me smile and I find almost all of them interesting.

I am thankful for downloading this app. The reason I downloaded this news app is consume less negative media everyone else sees on the internet. There needs to be more apps like this and I am glad this exists. I have major depression and it has help me spend less time on social media, and focus on what matter the most.
