Dominate undead politics through cunning and violence! Will a missing Prince give you the opening to betray your sire and seize power? Or will you remain loyal?
"Vampire: The Masquerade — Parliament of Knives" is a 600,000-word interactive horror novel by Jeffrey Dean, based on "Vampire: The Masquerade" and set in the World of Darkness shared story universe. Your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
The undead Prince of Canada's capital city has disappeared, and his second-in-command, Eden Corliss, wants you to find out why. You’ve been loyal to Corliss since she Embraced you and made you a vampire, but this could be your chance to take her place. Will you defend your sire from the accusations flying, or join forces with her rivals to bring her down?
Ottawa’s court of immortals is tight-knit and merciless, with tensions between clans that go back centuries. The Prince has been missing for four days, and old alliances are starting to crumble. How will you leverage the political chaos to your advantage? The authorities are already on high alert against a new group of Anarchs in the city, who have been breaching the Masquerade by revealing their true nature. You’ll have to gather evidence to demonstrate which suspects deserve punishment, and you can’t afford to guess wrong. One careless word could get you stabbed in the back—staked through the heart, and left to burn in the sun.
Who will you save when the knives are out?
• Choose from three clans, each with different gifts.
• Flaunt your coercive dominance as a Ventrue, your ark stealth as a Nosferatu, or your heightened senses as a Toreador.
• Master the social scene and ensnare the weak in your thrall.
• Command your own manservant and ghoul.
• Attack the Anarchs in the city, or help them take over.
• Uncover the lies at the heart of Ottawa’s immortal court.
• Romance a sheriff or a seer.
• Feast on the blood dolls of your charismatic ally.
• Play as male, female, or nonbinary; gay, straight, or bi.
In terms of story I love this game. I think it perfectly captures the VTM setting, and provides a compelling narrative. It reminds me a lot of my own VTM home game. I found myself genuinely invested in my character and what happened to her (not something every game / story like this actually manages to achieve). There are so many different routes the story can take that you simply will not get the full picture your first time through, encouraging replays. I’ve gone through myself 5 times and 2 additional times with my sister & dad, it’s that good. Every character has an angle and they all feel well developed and real. For me Corliss and Lucca definitely are my favorites. Originally I gave the game 4/5 due to a bug which reset story progress, but this has been fixed, and I felt the need to come revise my score, I now happily give a full 5/5. This is the definitive story put out by choice games, a touch better than Night Road and MILES ahead of Sins of Our Sires.
Definitely Replayable

Unlike CONY and even Night Road, this choose your own adventure novel really does let you choose. The others steer toward pretty much the same ending, making your choices largely irrelevant other than some minor flavor elements. PoK is not that. A complex plot has been written with multiple different endings that are really determined by your choices. These are not minor flavor differences, but vastly different outcomes depending on who you ally with and which faction you ally with. I’m on my 4th playthrough after getting three VERY different endings to the story that was driven by my choices. If I had any detraction, it would just be not to expect fully VtM character development. They have a similar but much simplified method, likely to avoid having too much customization to manage, but by your choices you really do get to customize your character by what you choose.Looking forward to playing through it as each of the playable clans and making different alliance and faction choices to see how many different endings I can uncover. Very well done!
AMAZING
another person in the void
Fans of VtM are starved for fresh content, so I’m super excited to have stumbled upon this absolute GEM. The only suggestion I have, is to please give the ability to go back a page. I completely understand locking in a choice and being unable to go back and change it. However it would be really helpful to be able to go back and reread some conversations, especially when coming back to the story after a couple days. I’d even take a running synopsis of the plot so far depending on your choices up to that point in the “show stats” area — just something to keep track of your progress and/or allow you to reread what you have already would really enhance the experience for me, and help me immerse myself a bit more. Thank you so much for making this for us!!
A good story well told

Picked this up on a recommendation from a friend, knowing little about the setting or the RPG. It’s really well written with lots of branching story paths begging to be explored on future re-reads. I won’t get into the plot here since others have covered it. I do have two criticisms, both related to the engine/app. These are not deal breakers by any means, but they would improve the experience.First, even on dark mode, there are white UI elements. This is quite distracting in a dark room. They are not present on the iPad version, so I’d recommend using that instead of an iPhone.Second, there is no option to go back a page or two. I don’t think the game should let you change your choices, but it would be nice to be able to re-read the last few pages.
You can now choose a font in the Settings menu. Switch to Helvetica for crisp sans-serif text, or try the OpenDyslexic font, designed against some common symptoms of dyslexia. If you enjoy "Vampire — Parliament of Knives", please leave us a written review. It really helps!
