Absolutely no research, input from users, experience or testing put into this app. It is unreliable and inconsistent in that it fails to even open frequently. When trying to sign in for a trip it will sometimes simply lock up and require a restart. All aspects of the app are inferior to the old app which brings up the question why was it needed if not a cost decision or an attempt to be able to process the new flight plan program. This it does tediously and sometimes fails to save. From a company that used to lead airline IT this app is our new normal. Absolute lowest bidder. Total amateur hour.

This app started as a small experimental project to interface with Sabre in a modern way. The app manager is awesome, and although new versions have some bugs, it is far superior to the antiquated Sabre system. The problem is it still has to access the antiquated Sabre system, but all in all it makes Signing in and getting your paperwork for your flight and getting all the information you need at your fingertips. The app is awesome.. I have noticed that some users that don’t know what they’re doing rate it poorly because they don’t know how to navigate the app and they don’t practice going to the special buttons that are at your fingertips on the main page.

Have been at American only long enough that this is the only version I have ever used. I have seen a couple negative changes recently. #1 if I leave the app and come back to it later it is completely frozen and useless. I have to force close and reopen to use. This is a new problem maybe 1 month or two old. Issue #2 is we have to log into the eAML every time we click on it. Would be nice if it just opened since we are after all navigating to it from the CCI app. These are my primary issues and other than that, it gets the job done.

1. Many FOS commands are hidden that should be available on the more tab. Commands like 7V (Monthly Flight Time) and 21 (Bid Results) are only accessible from a sequence’s commands. 2. The app is much slower than the original CCI and crashes if you try and tap around too quickly. 3. The schedule tab has filters for TTOT status (Red, Green) but these filters appear to not be working even when they’re enabled. 4. The overview page does not show next sign in time like the old CCI. There’s also much wasted space by only displaying today and tomorrow when you could easily fit 3 or 4 days of DFP or RAP on it. 5. Trip sign-in opt-in occasionally breaks the FFD button and I end up having to call crew scheduling to tell them I’m at the gate or sign-in fit for duty on the FMS. It’s not all complaints, I like the layout and I like getting notifications when the flight release is available. Just some minor tweaking to be better.
