HINT Control is a cross-platform app for accessing and managing your T-Mobile Home Internet gateway, with some extra features compared to the official app.
Features include advanced statistics, WiFi radio control, SSID management, and band steering, with more to come as more is discovered about the gateways.
HINT Control currently supports the Arcadyan KVD21, the Arcadyan TMOG4AR, the Sagemcom Fast 5688W, the Sercomm TMOG4SE, and the Noka 5G21. The Askey LTE gateway is not supported at this time.
This app is NOT affiliated with T-Mobile.
HINT Control is open source and also available for other platforms. Check out the downloads and source code at https://github.com/zacharee/ArcadyanKVD21Control/.
Really useful app. Great for setting up and checking T-mobile gateway connection. It needs one additional feature however, the ability to set an automatic reboot on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule. The ability to trigger a reboot on a connection loss would be a nice feature also.
Got strange error after setting change
Setman85
I tried to change my WiFi settings (change one access point to WPA2 instead of WPA2/WPA3) but after making the change I was getting this error when connecting to the wifi. “This network is operating on Wi-Fi channels in use by several other nearby networks.Restarting your wireless router may allow it to automatically choose the best channel to use, and may resolve this problem.”Not sure how this happened. Could be user error (if so, I’m sorry). I did factory reset and didn’t try Hint again. Too bad, looks like a great app.
Great app - needs Paste support for login
Furand
Really frustrating that you can’t paste password or use password manager to login. That said, this app is very convenient. Would prefer a web app instead but I’m thankful someone made literally anything for managing these garbage ISP-provided gateways. T-Mobile you are terrible and I hate you for not providing more user control of these devices.
Way Better than the T-Life App
Quality 1 Guy
For once an app that works as soon as you enter a password. I understand that it is designed for other platforms as well but it would be nice if the user could put names to the unknown devices or even clarify further the named devices. I know AT&T allowed that on their internet when I was with them in the past.
* Add explanations for some signal values. Tap the ⓘ next to a label.
* Don't encode 6GHz WiFi data in JSON sent to gateway if it's null.
* Replace Transmission Power sliders with discrete options for 50% and 100%.
* Update translations.
