Electronic Communication System (ECS) -
ECS is a tool for American Airlines Pilots and Flight attendants to view their schedule, receive updates on schedule changes and communicate with crew scheduling.
Key Features:
• Two-way Communication: Alert scheduling and tracking of your desire to no-show a deadhead, request help with a hotel, call in sick and many other options via the ECS app.
• Current Schedule updates: See updates to your schedule, such as reassignments or delays, to ensure you have the latest information. View departure and arrival gates with quick links to crew lists.
• Hotel Information: See the latest hotel information, including ground transportation, with quick links to the information you need to sign-in at the front desk.
• Customizable Communication Preferences: Control how you receive notifications. With optional push, email, autodial phone calls, and text preferences, you choose how and when you receive messages.
• User-Friendly Interface: Designed with pilots and Flight attendants in mind, ECS offers a clean and intuitive interface for quick and easy access.

more ECS has limited ability to communicate to Crew Tracking/Scheduling/Hotels, etc. because many issues do not fit into the few canned options available to report issues. Having an ability to text exactly what the issue is would alleviate many issues that could be addressed right away or just using a simple phone call to follow up. Additionally, ECS locks a pilot out of using the application to communicate when it ASSUMES said pilot is in flight. For example, pilot misses a scheduled deadhead due to various reasons, ECS will not allow this pilot to issue ECS to report they will not be in position for the next flight on their schedule. ECS refers the pilot to call Crew Tracking (CT) and if this occurs during IROPS, phone hold times to talk with CT often exceed several hours, so the company has zero knowledge they need to route additional resources to keep our passengers on schedule. This lock out function prevents pilots from communicating when needed and it would be the most efficient/effective method to actually communicate an issue. ECS messages also are not received immediately when sent. Schedule changes often are communicated by other means APA’s app or by CCI, however ECS lags behind significantly. Several schedule changes appear the next day/morning and are dated the previous day like they were sent/received as designed. I have checked iPad and personal devices for ECS Msgs to confirm schedule changes to find neither device has a change. If I did not investigate further to wait for so called “Official” our passengers would be waiting longer, or pilots would incur longer duty days risking timing out for illegalities.

The ability completely delete old messages would be nice. It takes up too much space in memory especially on personal devices. Or, have it automatically delete after so many days.

- Sequence Enhancements: Changes are clearly highlighted for easier visibility.

Updated the Hot Path contact number displayed during mid‑sequence when reporting sick.

- Implemented Trash functionality: Unwanted messages can now be moved to Trash and restored back to the inbox when needed.
- Added the ability to flag important messages with a visual indicator and quickly access them using the flag icon.

- Pilot-to-pilot trade notifications are available for set up in the Message Setup menu. These notifications will become active once pilot-to-pilot trading is integrated into TTS.
- Pilots can now submit Direct Connects through the “AA Pilots” tab.
Issues fixed:
- The ‘Message Read’ timestamp will now update correctly the first time the user reads the message.
- Fixed an issue preventing two-way communications older than 120 days from being visible.
- Fixed an issue that caused users to be notified multiple times for the same event.
- Fixed an issue that was causing repeated logins.
- The dashboard should now refresh automatically every 5 minutes.
