Wungura is a clothing brand, that aims to inspire and encourage all peoples of all backgrounds to coexist together and lead the way to a better future!
Wungura is a traditional word from the Dhauwurd Wurrung language group of the Gunditjmara People of south-west Victoria Australia.
Wungura meaning: "Quick/Fast"
Our original aim was to produce active wear and to be "Quick/Fast" perfectly fits the theme of being active and can be used in many different scenarios within life.
Wungura clothing may of only launched in 2021... But we acknowledge the work that has been done before us so we can build a brand on the foundations of a long legacy of determination, ingenuity, resilience and hope.
This legacy sets us apart from most brands.
Wungura is a brand for all, from a humble community this humble brand is ready to be worn/shown around the the world!
Wungura is lead by Jason Walker and son Jakobe Walker a Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta duo operating from Heywood Victoria.
Both had a vision to create a clothing brand that would inspire the community around them for a better future.
Since launch, November 6th 2021, Wungura clothing has slowly grown with the help of many friends, family and most importantly our community.
Our brand couldn’t have started more homegrown if we wanted it to.
Since those first few designs and Wungura original hoodies, we’ve always tried to stay true to ourselves and have consistency with our products. From all the setbacks, broken heat presses running out of working space to being sold out of stock we have been able to push through.
Getting our friends and family to model and to help pack orders to also create content and promote, while juggling our own jobs and business as well.
Today we continue to grow and evolve this “side hobby” into a reality. Teaming up with other businesses, Hearing from customers that our products are being brought from giftshops and being taken back to places around the world like New Zealand, England, USA and Canada just to name a few…
We would like to thank everybody for the support so far and can’t wait for what’s to come.
