During the past several years I have tried at least eight other rock and mineral scanning apps and until finding this one, it was a total bust. Anyway, I have collected specimens for many years and this one works reliably, including provision of detailed information about each specimen scanned and a %accuracy assessment of the identification. I am so happy and grateful to the developers (Thanks a bunch for the free lifetime pro promo deal). Even if you have to subscribe it's well worth considering. Developers, KUDOS for making an id app that actually works -- I sincerely hope you make some money off of your labors. Anyway, good luck and again, congratulations on crafting an excellent app 💥💥💥💥💥

Best and easiest rock identifier!

I was a little concerned at first when I could only get one free identification daily. But it accurately described my free rock, and I was hooked. I purchased the lifetime license and have been identifying rocks all evening! Very simple user interface, and really informative readout of each rock’s properties! Well worth what I paid!

The Backward Look
Currently being in Death Valley and surrounded by rocks, I am enjoying the app quite a bit.I don’t know how accurate the results are yet and will further look into that but I like what it does.One feature needed is the capability to save your photo after the app captures it.Also the “request a feature” link appears to be missing because when I click on the text, nothing happens.Other than that, RockPic is a fun and informative app.
