Set Up WiFi Sensors from Your Phone
You can now configure PodQ Air WiFi sensors directly from the app using Bluetooth. Simply go to Settings, tap Add Sensor, and the app will
find nearby unconfigured sensors. Select your home WiFi network, give the sensor a name, and you're done. No computer or web dashboard
required.
The app will verify the sensor connects successfully before completing setup. If there's a problem with the WiFi credentials, you'll know
right away and can try again.
Automatic Sensor Discovery
When you're near an unconfigured sensor, a notification card will appear at the bottom of the dashboard. Tap Configure to set it up, or
dismiss it if you're not ready. This makes adding multiple sensors quick and easy.
Improved Setup Experience
- Saved WiFi credentials: After setting up one sensor, your WiFi details are remembered for the next one
- Name suggestions: Quick-pick room names like Living Room, Bedroom, or Office
- Current network detection: The app can detect which WiFi network your phone is using and suggest it for the sensor
- Clear status indicators: See exactly when your sensor comes online
Security Improvements
Each sensor now gets unique authentication credentials, and the app checks sensor ownership before allowing configuration. Sensors
belonging to other accounts cannot be reconfigured.
Additional Changes
- Added Remove Sensor option in sensor details
- Fixed sensor online/offline status to match across all screens
- Outdoor sensor management improvements for location admins
Permissions
This update requires Bluetooth access to communicate with sensors during setup. The app also uses WiFi information access to detect your
current network name, making it easier to configure sensors for your home network.
2.9 12/21/2025
Redesigned Alert System
- State-Based Alerts: Alerts now use a smarter state machine model instead of time-based frequency. You'll be notified when air quality transitions above your threshold, not repeatedly for the same event.
- Recovery Notifications: New optional "All Clear" notifications let you know when conditions improve and drop back below your threshold.
- Configurable Recovery Margin: Set a custom buffer (default 10%) to prevent notification oscillation when readings hover near your threshold.
- 24-Hour Reminders: Receive daily reminders while conditions remain above your alert threshold.

- Improved map behavior and user experience when selecting locations
- Fixed issue where uncached locations weren't appearing in the picker
- Better location detail display and caching
