Glitchy uploads from Mac Ventura, but great once done

I did a very negative review here some weeks ago (weird - I can’t find it now to update so I’m doing this new one) but I am here now to say that I like the VOX system quite a bit. If you’ve got a very large library of songs then VOX is the only thing out there which allows you to keep all of your music files and play them in their original form from all of your devices. My original negative review was because the VOX app had locked up permanently on my Mac which runs Ventura. I couldn’t upload anything, and I couldn’t make the app do anything even after removing and reinstalling it. Then I discovered a beta version called VOX Universal and thought what the heck I’ll try it. That fixed everything on the Mac and it uploaded my first batch of music which is over a TB. I’ll eventually have over two TB’s of music stored on their server for no additional cost. That’s a fantastic bargain, and it all runs on my devices (couple of iPhones and iPads) smooth as silk. The audio quality is excellent with ability to adjust EQ and cross fades. I couldn’t be happier. The reason it’s four instead of five stars is that it was so glitchy on the newer Mac Ventura. Trying to get the app to run on my Mac was infuriating until I found the solution. I thought I had wasted my money which I paid a year up front, but now that the songs are uploaded it’s amazing. I totally recommend.
I’m kinda sad about this

Soo... I remember when I first downloaded this app I thought it was going to be so bad (this was about 6 months ago) and then I remembered that I had it (about a week ago, I used it almost every day) then it said I need to update it so I did and now I have to pay to use the equalizer and I had an equalizer on now the equalizer is stuck on the same equalizer setting I had it on. Now I can’t get it back off, plus the equalizer is probably one of the best equalizer on any app (when it was free) The app overall (again a week or more ago) was probably my most favorite equalizer app and if I made a review before it would’ve been a five star review one of the best apps now I’m kind of disappointed that I can’t use the equalizer anymore :((( (kinda wish I didn’t update it.) EDIT: just read some more reviews and there was one of the reviews that said this app was in beta and if it was it was probably so good you didn’t even need to update it the audio quality was so good I have a tube amp and headphones (Sennheiser HD something forgot the model also don’t have them anymore) And it sounded so good I was shocked the best part was the equalizer if I recall correctly, in the beta when I first downloaded it I don’t remember getting ads except if I was using SoundCloud linked to it so if you can have an option where people who first downloaded it can still use the equalizer when new people have to pay for the equalizer then it would be a lot better (or have a one time pay option, I would pay prob about $50-60) I am probably going to edit this more in the future so if anyone reads this and agrees with me or they change their thing that would be pretty cool.
Don’t pay for premium!

2022 update: another year later and this “premium” cloud service STILL doesn’t work right. I’m done, I can’t keep giving these people chances. Update: almost a year later and this service STILL has the same album cover issue. My one year subscription was such a waste, don’t make the same mistake I did. This wouldn’t be such a problem if they would make a Windows app, I don’t know why they only want to support Mac semi-properly. Whatever you do don’t buy the premium membership, the cloud service they provide is horrible. There are constant bugs with album art (and other stuff if you check their forums) and their support staff is clueless. I sent an email that clearly stated the problem and every thing I tried myself to fix the issue and they sent back a reply that asked me about something I explained in great detail multiple times in the email. On top of that when you delete files from the cloud they aren’t actually deleted so when I try to delete a broken file and upload again because of their terrible software, the broken file is still used. Worst of all there is no PC software for some reason so the only way to try to delete stuff from the cloud is using a Mac. You can’t even delete stuff with the iPhone app, how does that make sense? I’m so disappointed in this since I really wanted a way to have my lossless music in the cloud since iTunes Match doesn’t support it and Microsoft Groove is shutting down totally so I can’t use my OneDrive easily anymore. The search continues.

VOX Music Player gets FIVE STAR rating

Very satisfied with the VOX Music Player. Over the years, I went from listening to LP, to CD to my iPhone. I synced my library with I-Tunes, but my music library had been ripped in MP3 format. I have a good sound system but so much sound quality is lost in compressed formats. I heard about high-definition music but when I found out I needed special software to play it I just gave up. Then I found VOX. I found free software from the web and I’m ripping all my CDs in FLAC format and uploading them to my VOX library. It’s so simple. Now, with a little help from an Apple compatible DAC, I listen to music in all of its glory. Don’t let anyone tell you that there’s no difference; there is a big sound quality difference. Vox instantly syncs what I upload from my PC to my iPhone; the app even has an excellent parametric equalizer that helps me adjust my music to the listening environment. I’m somewhat technically challenged so when I reached out to the VOX developer, I received the same day response to my questions. How does it get any better? VOX gets FIVE-STARS!
- Youtube playback fixed;
- UI fixes.
