I’ve played every big game. I just play them and a couple hours in(so like a few days because I play mobile games between things) then delete them because I get bored of them. Well, this game certainly got my attention. It begins by you starting in this mysterious area and you collect thoughts known as “Ego”. “Ego” is the currency of this game. You use it to buy books and read the books. The books are basically the auto workers of this game. The more pages you read the more EGO they give you. Each book is a book that’s in the real world. Some of the text bubbles begin to be quotes from said books. The other use of Ego is to progress the story alongside. You progress by having conversations with Es about yourself and her. This also helps improve you Ego collection rate. The game has 3 endings based on what you pick. The game is split into three parts. Beginning, midway, the end. The midway and the end will include different conversations with Es based on your previous choices. Each ending is marvelous and unique. Figuring out how to get each ending is what’s tricky. There are goals that you accomplish for doing various things in the game that carry on when you reset your progress in the game, so trying to reach each different outcome wasn’t tedious or annoying. It was fun! I don’t wanna spoil any of it so I’m trying to keep it fairly mysterious. I highly highly highly recommend this game. It will definitely remain on my device even after completion.

I’ve never written a review before so I’m sorry I’m advance if it’s not that good. I’m gonna avoid spoiling anything about the game because the narrative is just brilliant. With beautiful music that both relaxes and slightly uneases you at times, the music fits perfectly with this game. The repeated phrases changing meanings the more you think about them and your perception of the story and it’s small cast is honestly just great. This game is definitely one of the more unique narrative experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. It constantly had me thinking about not only the story and characters, but myself at times too because of the interactive nature of it. I hadn’t heard of many of the books used in this game before playing it, but the ones I do know about helped me piece together more about what the story wants to achieve. Sorry that I’m kinda just rambling and being sort of ambiguous about explaining why I love this so much, I’ve never written a mobile review before and I’m honestly amazed with the quality of the experience provided. The ads weren’t up in your face, they were completely optional to help speed up progress a little bit. The game also didn’t ask me to review it until right at the very end, AFTER I had watched the credits. I actually watched the credits and paid attention to the names for once, and for something on my phone too. Look I get this has been a really sloppy review but the game is great. Amazing music, amazing art, amazing story, and it seriously made me think.

The title makes this game sound scary. It is not, but I will say this *IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING WITH DEPRESSION OR ANOTHER MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE, PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION*. I’ve had diagnosed depression since I was 12 and probably have been experiencing it since I was 9. I’m also managing PTSD. This game will show you harsh inner monologues of yourself that you might not have realized we’re there. I trust the game to be uplifting (as I’ve only passed what I can only describe as the first “chapter”, made up of several sections you unlock as you go). There is always this sense of a light somewhere waiting in the wake of the unsavory thoughts you’re forced to confront. Even the little “clicker” element, where you tap speech bubbles to earn more currency will go for the throat. There have been some that described a feeling I never knew was entirely there until i saw it there. It was moving in a way I wasn’t expecting. I will update this review as I go, but I believe it’s worth a shot. Unlocking the story parts isn’t hard and it’s a game you can play when you’ve only got a few minutes to kill. There are no real forced adds other than a banner at the bottom of the screen but thankfully, the game is designed to draw your eye to the top of it, making the add unobtrusive. It may not be a game for everyone, or something everyone will get something profound/deep out of, but if nothing else it is an interesting way of framing a game with a narrative that is worth checking out.

tw//im gonna start off by saying ive played a LOT of games in my life, tons of varieties and genres, fantastic and horrible games. when i started playing i didnt realize it was gonna be an idle sort of game, or clicker, or what not, and i was kind of put off.to say the developers went above my expectations is an understatement. from the deep meanings going over the idea of anxiety and psychology, this isnt just a clicker, it is truly a one of a kind GAME, first and foremost. a game that is built like a clicker, but put actual tears in my eyes, as it also hits close to home with how im currently doing in life. the biggest impact was when, in i believe chapter 1 or 2, it has you write about something along the sorts of whats troubling you. while im sure many people blew it off or skipped it, that was for some reason the first place i was able to be honest with someone that wasnt myself. i came out about my self harming, depressive thoughts, my anxiety, my troubles, and all to ES. maybe its because i knew nobody else would see it, or maybe it was just an outlet, but even the follow ups, of not being judged and her calm and patient demeanor made me feel something i havent even felt talking to a therapist. this isnt just some "normal game." every answer made me want to answer how i truly believe i would, and feeling the tinge of pain understanding ES's battle with the facade and society, to ultimately continuing the game to completion and seeing outcomes is an exprience i will likely never forget.
