I found this app to be a fun place to buy coins. It does have some glitches once in a while but not often. Seems like banks don’t like transactions for each time you win a bid in a show. Wish it was set up to where it took the money out all at once at the end of the show. But I do see why they do that for each transaction. It’s so they make sure you have the money in there for each time you win so the seller isn’t left hanging trying to repost the item or wait on you to have all the money in the account. My bank limits me to 40 transactions a day so i have to switch to a different card once in a while. You need to be extremely cautious on what you bid and what the rules are for each show. Sit back and watch for a little bit before you swipe to bid. There’s usually Notes at the top that explain the auction. Money can go fast if you are not careful so don’t let emotions take over. I’ve ran into some sellers on here that are awesome and go above and beyond for customers and there are also sellers that sell absolute junk or deceptive and it’s not worth bidding on. Think of Whatnot as a bunch of booths and you are walking around to get a feel for what you like at first, you don’t have to bid on everything you see on there. Find a good group of sellers and buyers and stick to them. There are good people in the whatnot community you just have to find them.

Its fun until you encounter a problem, you tried to contact the seller, not much help, she advised to contact whatnot CS which I did. CS resolution is a joke. Such a hassle example: I bought 3 preloved tops from one seller for 5 dollars each. It was advertised as a bundle so it means that I will only pay one shipping fee. That was my first time buying from her. Three days after, I checked for tracking to know when the parcels will arrived and that's when I found out there were 3 shipping fees. I contacted the seller, she was aware that I paid 3 shipping fees and yet she did not bother to let me know and proceeded to ship it. So when I told her my concern, she told me about it and advised me to contact CS, for CS , they advised me to send a picture of the unopened boxes in a weighing scale in USPS to make sure it does not go beyond the weight limit. Mind you, the hassle of this all. It was a freaking 3 pieces of 5 dollar shirt. It will never be beyond 2 lbs. I was only requesting to waive the other 2 SF. It was actually the seller's fault. Deceitful and misinformation. On the other hand, Whatnot CS doesn't understand the time and effort ,we as buyers do to stay and bid.One thing, sellers tend to downplay the callouts. So bid and buy at your own risk. Camera doesn't really capture flaws of the items. Sellers tend to say "minor scratches/ little peeling/ little scuffing" "great condition" and when the item arrive...you'll see that the callouts are NOT SO LITTLE AFTERALL 🤣🤣

Hear me out/ before you form an opinion, spend some time and watch some streams. You’ll see such crazy deals you’ll feel skeptical (I was too,no doubt) yet what is incredible is the human beings running their streams blasted wThis is not a corporate entity out to scam you into thinking anything other than it’s a platform that is run by human beings all in different categories, with different personalities, and of course intentions. Almost 3 years ago I stumbled across a random link, blindly-spent a fortune- learned the ropes, kept the faith and I’m so glad I did. There is nothing I’d rather do or be a part of - even with the judgement and the rotten eggs/sellers pushing negative baseless news for views, I believe in this space and community- especially every other selller strong enough to keep going too. 80% of the faces you see are tiny business owners, single moms, young adults going after their dreams- these are the ones billed for give aways and all the “free things” that most everyone joins our community to grab with 0 intentions of support in any way. I speak for many when I say everyone is welcome and the support means everything.. please don’t just join for reasons I most do as I mentioned. On the same hand, please don’t buy because you feel guilty or bad. Enjoy the show, enjoy the hottest and unknown styles soon enough you’ll see the truth. I hope you find all that I have and cherish it as well. Hope you keep an open mind and enjoy the experience as much as I do.❤️
Do not trust all shops and Hosts!

Most of the shops are legit but there a couple that run up the price so fast your bid may have been $10 and then once you slide that button over, it automatically jumps to well over what anyone would pay! And when you call them out on it, they refuse to fix the issue. I currently have this issue with the shop called “Stews Shoes”.. I went to slide the bid button on a pair of shoes that wasn’t going for very much very close to the end..and when I went to bid at a few dollars as I slide the button it jumped up to over $300! I automatically tried to cancel through a message, especially since it would cause a very important payment to falter and they refused to cancel. I couldn’t understand why that amount went that fast(?)! But they still kept the money and would not cancel the order. So I tried to reason with them, I told them If I had to pay anyways, to allow me a couple weeks and the hold the shoes until that payment was made and I would keep them and make the payment good. They said that to allow cancellations it would deeply affect the business and the bottom dollar. Me, I’m still confused about why that amount more than quadrupled in a second while I was bidding. I feel like it’s a result of them being able to control the amount they are wanting for the shoes, shows that they are purchased in large discounted prices. Just be aware that all shops are not as trustworthy as others.
Developer Response
Users can set a maximum custom bid for any auction, so bids in excess of what you'd like to bid won't be placed unintentionally. More information on how bidding works on Whatnot can be found in our FAQ: https://help.whatnot.com/hc/en-us/articles/14932924544141-Bidding-Overview
