I really feel TransUnions method of credit reporting is very oppressive. I hope the governments overhaul of credit reporting agencies will address issues that hold Americans hostage and crippled for decades. I don’t know who the eggheads are that sit at the round table thinking of ways to penalize hard working Americans creditworthiness but it reeks of elitism. Credit Reporting agencies are not good for America’s economy. Especially with COVID effecting so many hard working people. Through no fault of their own Americans are having to pay the price for governments lousy mismanagement of our funds and a virus that we had no control over. Credit reporting agencies will keep derogatory credit on reports for decades. 7-10 years is too long for individuals to be penalized or effected by mishaps on their credit report. Inquiries stays on your reports for 2 years. Most of them are inaccurate. Individuals have to bear the burden of proof that it’s inaccurate. Two years for an inquiry; what about 6 months? Why should it affect your credit at all. If someone wants to apply for several lines of credit; as long as they can pay their bills what business is it of yours. These credit reporting agencies must be comprised of Creditors. Because the creditors can do or report anything on your report without scrutiny. The wealthy don’t pay by these rules. These agencies stop America from thriving and its done by design. Keep the rich; richer and the poor;poor. This economy is sustained my middle America and we’re the most penalized, taxed and every other kind of bureaucratic robbery. I hope Americans get to the point they are tired of being taken advantage of and revolt. Stand up and stop being screwed by oppressive agencies like these!
Years of Frustration and Wasted Money with TransUnion App
Oilfield Worker
I've been a paying customer of the TransUnion service for around 6 to 7 years, which has cost me a significant amount of money. However, the app has only worked properly for me during the first year. I prefer using an app on my phone for convenience since I'm frequently on the go and not tethered to my PC. Unfortunately, this issue is pushing me towards canceling my service and stopping the flow of my hard-earned money to TransUnion.I've reached out to customer support numerous times, hoping for a solution, but all I received were excuses. No real help was provided. I've tried changing my login details multiple times, and I've even gone through the process of deleting and reinstalling the app. Nothing has resolved the issue. I even upgraded my phone recently, so I know I have the latest technology, hoping it might solve the problem with the app. Yet, I'm still unable to log in and use the services I've been paying for all these years. The constant troubles and lack of effective support have left me defeated and utterly disappointed. The fact that I can use a browser on a PC is a small consolation, but it defeats the purpose of having mobile access, which is crucial for me. I'm at the point where I feel continuing the service is just throwing money away. It's disheartening to invest in a service that cannot deliver the basic functionality it promises, especially when it concerns something as important as credit monitoring. I give up.
Timeliness of Updates

TransUnion is exceedingly slow updating my accounts. I refinanced my mortgage 6 weeks ago; the old loan has been repaid and closed on the Experian site since two Weeks after the refinance. TransUnion has had both loans outstanding on my account for 3 or 4 weeks and still maintains both loans. So my outstanding debt appears to be twice what the actual amount is. I would love to see the account balances updated timely. Another week has passed and still no update. That review was written two years ago.Since then, TransUnion is perennially slow updating balances compared to other credit reporting agencies, and when the credit score changes on the site, there are no explanations. If one inquires about reasons for the score, the generic explanations from a template don’t make sense. My credit score on the other credit reporting site has been 850 for a long time, and it’s been much lower than that on TransUnion (832) for a similar amount of time. The explanation is that there are too many accounts with balances. I pay my credit cards in full every month, except for any amounts that are pending and get posted the night the statement period closes, which provides no time to get them paid before the statement cutoff (usually less than $100, but sometimes more). Clearly not a reason for a lower score. TransUnion is a palpably worse credit reporting site than the other one.
The worst of the credit agencies
Seansplayin
Google “Transunion data breach” they are currently being sued in a class action lawsuit (Bryant v. Trans Union LLC) for failing to properly secure the names, addresses, drivers license numbers, social security numbers and financial account numbers of 200 Million US citizens that were lost in a data breach. Their services are slow everything from the website to getting emails and good luck trying to correct the misinformation that they themselves caused to be on your credit record. If you don’t login to the website for an extended period when you try to login you will receive a message telling you incorrect password even though you know for certain you entered the correct password since it is stored in an encrypted file along with the last date you authenticated on their website using that password but hey I guess it’s easier to tell the customer they are an idiot than simply say they are requiring you to change your password. Try going to the website and setting a 15+ digit password and you’ll find out their own app won’t let you login with a 15+ digit password but their website happily will.
Feature enhancements and minor bug fixes.
