Completely ridiculous to charge officials and anyone else for access to the rules for what are largely public school sporting events. This creates an issue of equal educational opportunity (not available to all regardless of socioeconomic status) which is mandated by several acts of congress. It has always shocked me that these books continue to be behind a paywall. You are not doing us officials any favors by locking out the uneducated general public (high school sports parents, coaches, administrators, players) from being able to educate themselves on the specifics of the rules.

Actually, this app is terrible. It was far better when you could purchase these NFHS publications in Books. The only redeeming quality is you can copy text to include it when creating training materials. But even that is problematic. The reasons it's terrible:• When searching for a key word it'll produce a list of multiple "hits" of the same word on the same page??? But not all of the locations that word appears are displayed.• After selecting text and clicking a highlight color it highlights the sentence below your highlighted text???• Yellow is not in the pallet of highlight colors???• When trying to select text, the cursor tries to move you to the next page??? You have to click then hold the space bar and click again to select a block of text. (really???)• Using the left/right arrow keys does not move you to the previous/next page when you've randomly moved into some kind of edit page (toolbar at the bottom of the page)• The left/right arrow keys don't work after you've exited the random edit page (toolbar at the bottom of the page)• Oh, wait...now the arrow keys are working• Nope, never mind. They're no longer working unless I exit the book and come back into it.I give up. The user experience is too random and frustratingly inconsistent.

This is already another failed attempt by NFHS. Once of the easiest ways to search for rules and case plays involves searching for key words. While the initial listing looks decent, it does not allow you to cycle through the book search for just that word. The initial list is also not all inclusive. Example: search for “inadvertently” in baseball case book. The list does not show all results.PLEASE gives us a laptop/computer based version so we can train ourselves and others better.Feel free to contact me directly to get much over due edits correct. It is disappointing that a supposed education-based entity can get fundamental teaching material developed.

Stop telling reviewers their complaint about paid for content not being available is a fluke. I wish I had read another person’s review before purchasing (not like it would have helped much when the rules your league plays by is behind a forced paywall). I bought a rules book and I am having the same problem as another reviewer. It is amazing to have to download an app, PAY FOR a rule book and the paid for content is completely non-viewable/app is non-functioning. If zero stars were possible, this app would have it.
