As for most people who downloaded this app, I’ve also been on a search for a way to block short form content. Unfortunately, the only way was to either practice abstinence or completely delete all of the apps. But this app is geniunely fantastic! Considering it’s just the 1st version, and factoring in how quickly these guys even released the app, some bugs are excusable. The software can be a little slow, and for me (iPhone16) the DMs don’t seem to work— after opening someone’s chat, it never loads in for me to actually send any kind of message. It also doesn’t permit me to message anyone new (prior to downloading SocialLite. I have to first go on my regular Instagram app, message someone there, so a new chat gets created for them, and then hop back over. But still can’t send any DMs through SL).And this app is FREE (with premium options, but it’s literally only 3.99 a month and not required for a great experience) which is such a rare word to see nowadays. Totally worth the download.

Amazing first iteration — so many people have been wanting a way to turn off the short form content on social media! Kudos on the lighting fast deployment, obviously there are some needed bug fixes and polishing to be done over time (hopefully the lag can be worked out on Instagram) but this is a huge first step. I highly recommend any social media user download SocialLite and give it a try, I hope it only gets better from here!

I understand this is obviously still being worked on actively, but the user experience could be a lot smoother and I’d like if somehow you could change the layout of snapchat (although it’s obviously in beta so I understand). Outside of that, this app is great and I hope to stick with it because I often have hours and hours of screen time on Instagram and similar apps that pull me in and keep wasting my time. The idea is great and I think it has a ton of potential because other apps don’t approach the problem like this one.

They made a pretty good app. I was very skeptical at first when I saw it announced on their Instagram. I had this idea a while ago and tried to build it, but I was told it could not be done. I just hope these guys are careful because I know Meta doesn’t like when people utilize their services through a workaround app. It’s a phenomenal app, I just hope it stays up for time to come.
