My original review was 3 stars and I complained about the micro-transaction nature of this game. Basically I was upset how the easier and very satisfying levels get you addicted, and then the harder levels almost require special items that take many hours to create (but that you could easily have if you buy them). I get that they want you to spend money and the temptation is there. I have spent money, but I drew the line at $10. I learned there is opportunity to earn gems thru daily hen feedings, answering the goat’s daily questions (even a wrong answer brings you closer to earning more gem currency) and slowly building up your arsenal of power items to use to level up. Even by attempting and failing the harder levels you might earn a few rare gems needed to help build your arsenal (you can keep any special gems cleared even if you don’t pass a level). If you are patient you can play this game successfully without spending a cent. The daily challenges are usually not that difficult and can help give you stars to complete constellations and earn more gems. This journey in and of itself is very rewarding especially when I am able to level up the really tough levels with the help of the power items I have spent time earning the materials to craft. Much more rewarding than just buying my way up the map. The emojis do have a point too...the more emojis you have the easier it is to answer the goat’s questions. Also even as you are moving up the map levels, there are still the really easy and very rewarding just for fun levels that are a blast to play. I appreciate the easier ones sprinkled in between the tougher ones.

Some Levels Are Near Impossible

First of all, I'd like to say that I do enjoy the game itself and I rarely have issues with the app functionality. I've been playing it regularly for a few years now. However, like other reviewers have mentioned- it's a love/hate kind of relationship with this game. The main thing that really irritates me is how certain levels are almost IMPOSSIBLE to win. I have been stuck on level 745 for... I don't know... weeks? Before that, I was stuck on other levels. It's an endless cycle. After I finally beat a super hard level (which usually requires me pulling out all the stops and using just about every "boost"(?) I can... OR I just have to be really lucky and get a Dark Sphere or something that just happens by chance), I might be able to breeze few a couple more levels before getting hung up on one that is just amazingly difficult. Yet, here I am... still trying to win! I don't expect every level to be super easy, but if I can't win in a few tries, it gets really annoying! Lastly, it is really aggravating to see ads pop up that there is a "sale" for buying a bundle- or whatever they call it- for $70+ ... WHO in their right mind would pay something like that for a mobile game?? That is something I find utterly bizarre and, in fact, insulting to be offered the option to fork out more money than I spend on groceries for myself for a Bejeweled game... Anyway, yes, I will still be attempting to beat level 745... begrudgingly, and happily at the same time.

The Candy Game but Gems!

It’s a nice take to compete with the obvious mobile hit game in the market but it feels like this game was stuck in early to mid 2010’s. Needs to change resolution or textures from SD to HD/4k. Sometimes it feels slightly sluggish where it doesn’t feel like your touching the gems. Frames seem to be capped at 30fps which was good for the time but with screens going up to 120 hertz it’s time for an overhaul. It’s a good game overall especially with the lack of ads like the “Classic” Bejeweled however i’m inclined to say that it can’t possibly be called Bejeweled without the Classic mode! No narrator voice like the original and even their competitor game has voice responses when making a good move!One of the other things i see with this game is over complication. The UI needs to be reworked and optimized for newer devices. It may seem im bashing this game but it is fun especially if you’re trying to get your fixed on a Bejeweled game. If you’re new to the Franchise it seems unsurprising why not many stay on this game.

I’ve been very disappointed with this game for a while now. I’ve been playing for over a year and it’s gone from a cute game you can play in your free time to a drag that is mind-numbing. Plus, I can’t play my music while playing it anymore, as it cuts out exterior audio. They also don’t have any real prizes for their “constellation” thing anymore, so there is no incentive to gain stars from the levels anymore. I guarantee you, I did NOT need five more blue gems, thanks. Not do I ever need more “rare” orange gems. More than that, half the time the game decides to... not do the move I did?? It will completely ignore it and just move the waterfall or ice blocks on. AND, during their new challenge where you can get unlimited hearts, the game ignored the hundred of “mittens” I had won twice, then didn’t even give me my prize when I finally did get enough mittens. This app is taking up almost a whole GB of space on my phone and it’s just not worth it. I never mind spending money on a game that seems like it’s worth it, but this game has never really seemed worth the value of even a couple dollars and I would play it daily, which says something. The only reason I’ve played so long is I’m an obsessive person and hate quitting at something I’ve put time and effort into. But, I honestly think I might delete the app and get a better game or two, especially if the outside music keeps cutting out. It’s just not fun. Very disappointing.
