What’s New

Version 3.1.4

This update is packed full of great new features. You can now sort and filter actions, archive lists, and search actions with a whole new search screen. We’ve also introduced a new way to browse colors and more than doubled the number of colors available with beautiful new muted and dark options.

Filtering and Sorting Actions

On every list you can now filter and sort the actions on it via the filter button. You can show or hide actions depending on if they are shared with other people, scheduled, repeating, or set to hot or cold priority. You can sort actions by priority, creation date, name and scheduled date. Sorting is applied as a one-time reordering of the actions on the list each time you tap one of the sort options. This means you can manually reorder actions too.

Checklist (Subtasks) Sorting and Cleanup

You can now sort the subtasks on action by name and completion with the sort button underneath the subtasks list. Tap the new cleanup button and choose whether to delete all, delete all completed or delete all incomplete.

Filtering and Sorting Lists

The new filter button in the top right of the Lists screen lets you filter and sort the order of your lists. You can show or hide lists that are shared with other people or that have been archived. You can sort the order of your lists by name, creation date, the number of actions on them, the number of incomplete actions on them, and by most recent to last used.

Archiving Lists

You can now archive lists by tapping the archive button next to the delete button on a list’s settings screen.

New Search Screen

The new search screen has been added to the main tab buttons at the bottom of the screen between logbook and schedule. It’s a whole new way of keeping on top of your actions, and works as a dynamic list, changing what actions are displayed depending on the filters you set across the top of the screen. You can quickly turn on and off each icon to filter what actions are shown, and also filter by text which searches action names and notes. The sort button in the top right lets you sort the order of the actions currently on screen.

New Colors

You can now sort between groups of colors on the color screen, with vivid, pastel, muted, dark and monochromatic options. New colors have been added, expanding the range to 70 unique options. The new grid view arranges all the color bubbles into a neat order, and the lists button displays a mini preview of your lists so that you can setup all your colors at once.

You can now enable notifications on changes to shared lists per list, in the List Settings screen on a shared list.

Editors’ Choice

Working up the energy just to look at your to-do list can be a lengthy process. Often your good intentions come crashing down as you see the intimidating collection of jobs you’ve been putting off. Actions by Moleskine Studio is designed to make life easier. No, it won’t magically tackle your outstanding tasks, but it will take away some of the fear factor, making your to-do list look and feel more accessible and achievable.

MaryDriscoll ,

The best app for lists.

I love this app and Moleskine’s other scheduling app, Timepage. They’re intuitive and beautiful and don’t make me annoyed—normal scheduling apps drive me nuts when I’m setting the reminder alarms, dates, etc. I hate fuss. I even stopped using my phone for scheduling and just went back to pen and paper to avoid it! But these apps take the fuss away and feel great to use. They’re easier than getting out a planner, believe it or not. I was thinking about creating a no-fuss scheduling app since there were none a few years ago. The biggest tech companies are still completely missing the mark about quick, intuitive and stylish schedulers (how does that happen? These guys need more ergonomics-focused people on their teams for sure.) Glad to see I don’t have to bother anymore!

The only issue I’m having is that Actions is not “connecting”, whatever that means. Basically, I subscribed to the app for a year with my Apple ID but the intro pages that explain how to the use the app still come up every single time I open the app new... at least once a day or any time after I’ve manually quit the app. It says something about not having a network connection... I don’t understand because I’m connected to the internet and I’ve gone through all the settings trying to resolve the problem. May have to do with the fact that I live outside the U.S.? This glitch (is it a glitch?) is annoying, but the app is so valuable I don’t care that much.

I cannot put into words how much I enjoy this app! I have NEVER purchased an app until now; there are just too many that are free and I am a cheapo. This app, however, cannot be compared to any other. As a manager with hundreds of little things to keep up with, on top of having ADHD, the actions app is truly life changing! I’m also easily frustrated with complex technology; even though scheduling/customizing recurring reminders/tasks took a minute to figure out, the actions app is extremely easy to use! I used to just make lists in my notes app on my iPhone; now, I put EVERYTHING in my actions app!! You can make lists for anything, add notes to each task if needed, and you don’t have to schedule them until you’re ready. Speaking of scheduling, you can set a custom day for each task/reminder. You can also set reminders on the day of and head of time!
I set recurring reminders that repeat monthly/weekly/yearly for bills, appointments, birthdays, etc. My lists are: Grocery, Order, To Do ASAP, To Do Later, Goals, Miscellaneous, & Work. It has been so beneficial to my personal life that I decided to purchase it for all of the company phones at work! For the price of one meal at a cheap restaurant, you can have mind blowing organization and productivity. Why would you not, at the very least, test out the free trial???
(Ps. Sorry for the novel. Lol)
