The whole app is a chart now. The top tab bar is gone. Navigation moved to the left edge, where your sections sit as colour-coded divider tabs — tap one and that divider becomes the page you are reading. Every screen opens as a printed form, with its own code and date over a rule, and closes with a footer. A record you amend more than an hour after filing it gets stamped ADDENDUM in red, so your own edits are visible the way a real chart shows them. Stats rules itself as a ledger flowsheet, and Year on the Wards opens as a fold-out. New in Settings: Stock. Eleven colour sets — Manila plus ten dyed ones — that re-colour the dividers and the paper together. Every one is contrast-checked in both light and dark before it ships. Fixes: the navigation no longer drifts off-screen on iPhone, headings no longer clip at the edge of the screen, and iPad no longer describes itself as a Mac. Your journal is unchanged and opens exactly as before.

A quiet release. 3.6.6 brought the application season; this one hardens it. Every fix below came from auditing that release's own fixes, three rounds deep, because a correction is exactly where a new mistake likes to hide. FIXED • Grandfathering is safe now. If you used the application tools before they became paid, an interrupted first unlock could seal that access away permanently. It cannot any more, and the check now reads a value that never changes once your journal is created. • iCloud sync tells you when it stops. A journal that outgrows what iCloud can hold in a single record used to stop syncing silently while Settings still said On, which you would discover while restoring a lost phone. Addendum now names that state plainly and points you at the encrypted backup, which has no such ceiling. • Send feedback no longer blocks itself. The form asks for a reply address, then flagged that same address as an identifier and refused to send. It also keeps what you typed if anything goes wrong on the way out, instead of losing the paragraph you just wrote. • Dictation is steadier. It cannot start twice, and cancelling while the permission prompts are open now closes the microphone properly rather than opening it a moment later. • Nothing paints over a locked journal. A few late arriving messages, and the feedback form itself, could appear on top of the lock screen. They stay closed. Your entries, your passphrase and your backups are untouched by all of it.

Addendum's premise is that a year of clerkship notes should become next year's residency application without retyping them. v2.5.1 captured the notes; this release builds the other half. Nothing since 2.5.1 was ever released, so all of it is new to you. NEW IN 3.6.5 • Three tabs instead of nine: Capture, Browse Journal and Apply, with Settings and Send feedback as icons in the corner. Nothing was taken away; the other screens live inside these three now. • Apply is a checklist you walk, not a cabinet you search. One ordered path from your first story to your rank list, a step at a time, and it picks up where you stopped. • Browse Journal groups your entries into rotation blocks, taken from the rotations you close out. Search still cuts across every block. • Quiet encouragement, all of it optional. Checklist progress, tips due, coverage rings, a look back at your week and at each rotation you close, your own records, a weekly rhythm you set yourself, and one of your own entries from a year ago today. Nothing counts a streak you can break, nothing turns red, each has its own switch in Settings, and reminders stay off until you turn them on. • Apply is a one time unlock. Your journal stays free forever: writing, searching, printing, exporting and backing up, along with Tips, Tricks, & Tests and Gap Check. Already using the application tools? They stay yours, free and permanently. THE APPLICATION SEASON (built since 2.5.1, all new to you) • ERAS composer: the MyERAS structured fields, live character budgets, a blocking deidentification scan, and prose ready to paste in MyERAS field order. • Programs and evidence: keep your own program list, link entries to it, and open a program to see what substantiates it. Each experience and letter writer gets the same, including where you have logged nothing yet. • Letters: writers are real records tracked from "to ask" to "uploaded", with an aging nudge. • Signals: a budget, not a list, capturing why each decision was made when you made it. • Rank worksheet: weighted fit beside your gut read, with the divergence flagged for a written reason. • Season roadmap, dashboard and an application timeline, built from your own verified cycle dates. • Import interview invitations from a calendar (.ics) file, read on your device. • Export your procedure log as CSV in the shape schools ask for: counts only, no dates. • If your specialty applies through ResidencyCAS, the SF Match or the urology match, Addendum names that service instead of assuming ERAS. • Faster logging: a procedure in three taps, repeated in one. COMAT as a full exam type beside the shelf. Photo to text that runs on your device and never stores the image. A stronger Argon2id option. CLAIMS THE APP HAD NOT EARNED • Every number that changes with the cycle now comes from your own verified cycle settings, or the app says it does not know. • Over a character limit now tells you whose limit it is and where the number came from. Writing is never blocked and nothing is ever truncated. ALSO • A new visual system, verified for contrast in both themes. Pearls is now Tips, Tricks, & Tests. Coverage is now Gap Check. Same screens, same entries. • Backups identify themselves and their checksums are verified before an import overwrites anything. • Privacy you can verify: confirm on your own copy, from Settings, that the app makes no network requests of its own. • Audited end to end before release; 68 findings fixed, three of them serious: a patient name could ride out of a letter packet, an all caps chart header scanned clean, and one editor could discard another's unsaved draft. Also fixed: goal packs that never accrued, an export that skipped its identifier scan, and interview dates that could read a day early. • If you sync across devices, update all of them. An out of date device will say the journal was made by a newer version and ask you to update first. Nothing is deleted.

Quick unlock for devices without Face ID or Touch ID (like many Macs): opt in once and unlock with your Mac login password, Apple Watch, or device passcode instead of retyping your passphrase. Strictly optional — Addendum offers it once, it lives in Settings → Security, and on devices with Face ID / Touch ID nothing changes. Your passphrase always still works.

Cairn is now Addendum — same app, same offline-first privacy, all your entries untouched — and it's our biggest release yet: • Pearls — bank the teaching points you get asked on rounds; spaced review resurfaces them before each shelf exam (set your shelf dates for a countdown). • Interview — map your best moments onto the classic "tell me about a time…" prompts as STAR stories, drill them, and track programs, thank-yous, and a private rank worksheet. • Letters — track each writer from "to ask" to "uploaded" and export a de-identified per-writer packet. • Privacy you can verify — a Settings screen shows the no-network guarantee holding on your own copy. • Optional on-device reminders (backup + shelf lead-ups; no server, notifications carry no content), a heads-up when another of your devices runs a newer Addendum, system text-size support, a Mac menu bar with keyboard shortcuts, and accessibility polish throughout. Plus the earlier quality-of-life work: a weekly "This week" digest on Coverage, tappable procedure goals, one-tap recent-rotation swaps, and a Coverage → ERAS bridge.

This update fixes several important issues found in an intensive review: • Creating a journal no longer fails on Macs and on devices without Face ID or Touch ID set up. • Fixed a crash on iPad when exporting or sharing — including saving your recovery key. • Safer optional iCloud sync: edits from a second device can no longer be left out of the cloud copy, and a different journal already in your iCloud is now protected instead of overwritten. "Erase all data" now removes the iCloud copy too. • An entry that fails to save no longer clears what you wrote, and cancelled share sheets no longer count as completed backups. • Many clearer, more honest error messages throughout.
