App doesn’t work

I wanted to love this product, especially because of the app after purchasing the first diffuser, I ran into multiple app problems not to mention that it kept looking at two diffusers when I only had one, so no one could explain why that happened. So I asked to replace the diffuser to see if it was just that first two days I connected to the app. It worked fine third day no longer working with the app. In fact, the app told me I was no longer authorized to make changes to my schedules.

I really don’t understand how so many complaints about the app and the reviews and it’s still not working. You charge $200 plus and this is the crap we get unfortunately and I do mean unfortunately I’m going to send my second one back because the reason why I paid so much money was because I wanted to use an app.

Not even ready for beta

If you like constantly resetting your “smart” diffusers and app, you’ve come to the right place. The diffusers are constantly not updating status in the app. They show the wrong fragrance, wrong status, won’t turn on/off, etc. The resolution is to go around and reset everything. Not so smart. If I wanted to walk around adjusting the diffusers by hand, I wouldn’t have sprung for the “smart” version.

Those rare times it is working, there is a big lag between app and diffusers (as in 15-30 or 60 seconds. Imagine if you asked Alexa to turn on the light and you had to wait a full minute for it to happen, or someone pressed the button on your Ring doorbell and nothing happened for a full minute - and you get the picture.) And if you do something too fast, they get out of sync and everything needs a reset. Not so smart.

You could cut Aera some slack if the diffusers weren’t $200 each and a 3-4 week fragrance bottle $55. If you’re going to price something like Apple, you have to deliver the goods. I believed the hype and wanted to love these, but 4 months and $800 in, it’s been a headache and a hole in my wallet.

Refreshing

We gave Aera a try. Let me tell you the experience was better than expected. We ran into a couple snags that was out of their hands and more a shipping company issue. However Aera fixed the issue and made up for it themselves. Over the top customer service. The experience in the house leaves our house smelling like an upscale hotel at all times. We walk in and always feel refreshed. The smell stays all day. I have bad allergies and it leaves my allergies alone. The app is so user friendly. Highly recommend. The mini and normal diffuser are both outstanding. We have one of each.
