The Alternative Fueling Station Locator app helps you find fueling stations that offer electricity, natural gas, biodiesel, E85, propane, or hydrogen.
Use your current location or enter a custom location to find the 20 closest stations within a 30-mile radius. View the stations on a map or see a list of stations ordered by distance from your location. Select your alternative fuel of choice and adjust the custom filters to fit your needs.
Select a station from the map or list to view contact info and other details:
- address, phone number, and hours of operation
- payment types accepted
- public or private access
- special services
- compression (natural gas)
- vehicle size access (natural gas)
- number and types of chargers (electric)
- blends available (biodiesel)
- blender pumps (ethanol)
The app draws information from the U.S. Department of Energy's Alternative Fuels Data Center, which houses the most comprehensive, up-to-date database of alternative fueling stations in the United States. The database contains location information for more than 15,000 alternative fueling stations throughout the country.
- Updates for iOS 13 compatibility.
- Support Dark Mode in iOS 13.
- Fix app crash when viewing some electric station details.
- Fix address autocompletion not working.

I’m done using google maps to find me my diesel pumps when I’m out and about in an area I don’t know. I was low on fuel, trying to find a diesel pump somewhere, and having no luck at all. I pulled over and I found this outdated looking application from the iPhone 3G days. Luckily, this app works like a banger! Sees your current location and links up to Apple Maps (make an option for google maps) for directions to the gas station! BOOM! Easy and done! Select your fuel and drive to the nearest location via what the apps tells ya to!
Must have app for Alt Fuel Vehicle owners
Surprisingly there are very few apps like this that highlight a pretty solid lineup of different Alternative Fuel Stations available.. I just bought a used Honda Civic GX (The CNG/ Compressed Natural Gas Powered Civic) so hopefully this app will be used by many and continue to grow in popularity.
Crash, bugs, no contact
App crashes when certain stations are tapped in list view. In map view when a pin is tapped the information box that appears is transparent and has no data in the box. There is no link to send feedback from within the app. Necessary for reporting these sorts of bugs since it’s apparent the developers allow bugs and because of the app being a data based product the contact form could serve as a user-based collaborative quality control for keeping up-to-date data.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
