The Alternative Fueling Station Locator app helps you find fueling stations that offer electricity, natural gas, biodiesel, E85, propane, or hydrogen.
Use your current location or enter a custom location to find the 20 closest stations within a 30-mile radius. View the stations on a map or see a list of stations ordered by distance from your location. Select your alternative fuel of choice and adjust the custom filters to fit your needs.
Select a station from the map or list to view contact info and other details:
- address, phone number, and hours of operation
- payment types accepted
- public or private access
- special services
- compression (natural gas)
- vehicle size access (natural gas)
- number and types of chargers (electric)
- blends available (biodiesel)
- blender pumps (ethanol)
The app draws information from the U.S. Department of Energy's Alternative Fuels Data Center, which houses the most comprehensive, up-to-date database of alternative fueling stations in the United States. The database contains location information for more than 15,000 alternative fueling stations throughout the country.

Ratings and Reviews
Great app but lacks favorites
So far so good with this app. It seems relatively bug free and I like the filter options. However, for my non-tesla EV it would be nice to be able to favorite some stations and filter the map on those favorites. Some charge stations just aren’t as convenient or they are proprietary at car dealerships. Echoing the request for google maps option for address forwarding.
Crash, bugs, no contact
App crashes when certain stations are tapped in list view. In map view when a pin is tapped the information box that appears is transparent and has no data in the box. There is no link to send feedback from within the app. Necessary for reporting these sorts of bugs since it’s apparent the developers allow bugs and because of the app being a data based product the contact form could serve as a user-based collaborative quality control for keeping up-to-date data.
Updated to IOS-10!
Update... I don't like that the program defaults to Apple maps - and in a Metropolis, where there are Transits... there's no option or any way to open the destination / route in Google maps. There's also no way to copy the address to paste it into Google. I hate Apple maps.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
