Ive met some great people who work for amtrak. In fact the gentleman who is driving the bus from sf to Emeryville, just lovely! The one i have a problem with is your timed respons window to bank or just change to another train when a train gets missed. First with things the way they are financially but that anyone could think that is a good practice and great way to make money. It says to me that you could care less about me my safety or empathy for anyone. Its plainly greedy and selfish. Usually when i or anyone misses a train they are already upset but what a great thing to just kick em in the face and take their money too! Great move amtrak! But no it hets better.... if i miss a train i usually go back home so im driving i cant use my phone till im home. Now to cancel a train before is like not possible because im prob running late so cant text or call. I had an operator tell me one time that my call was 5 min too late the train just left 5 min before. I said “honey, 6 min ago i still had a chance to catch it snd before that how do i know if im gonna not get there in time... i havent missed the train yet and if i could im usually running for the train , now how am i gonna call amtrak then. The bedt part is ghe 1hour time limit that been added that even management cant help you eith , lock down that money!!! So now i gotta call on mon when those special management team is in. Dhame on you amtrak
Worst App on my Phone
This app can barely display your ticket, and most of the time I have to find my reservation number in order to do that. I get a system error any time I try to make a change, and there is no connection to your Amtrak Rewards. It makes no sense. I take Amtrak all the time because the service itself is good in the NE corridor, but you might as well just print your ticket rather than rely on this app.
I realize this is a bad review, but for some constructive criticism, please connect this app with people’s rewards accounts. I would be happy if I could just simply apply an upgrade coupon without having to call Amtrak. Btw the Amtrak phone customer service is actually very good, but frustrating that the app can’t do basic things like show your ticket or connect to your rewards coupons.
Horrible trip 🤦♀️
Was traveling my trip takes almost 16 hrs. I have taken this trip many times in the last year. Some trips were just fine. However lately the staff is just awful. I have to explain this to someone. So I purchased my ticket for $81. Trying to board the train the lady employee kept talking and talking to a customer about anything other than Amtrak information. So I finally get in the train. At this time the whole cart was almost full. So I went to the seat I was assigned to and there was an woman larger than myself it was obviously not gonna work for us for 16hrs if half that time. So both embarrassed I flagged over the conductor and explain our issue and he of coarse said smirky we’re all booked and full. Then the other woman who walks the isle. Again she argued and scolded stating loudly in front of everyone and I felt completely shamed. Not to mention that half of the train was empty. A man almost to late to even run before the doors closed. He got to be seated in one of the seat in the back of the carts. The whole 15 hrs not a person was set there. I had to walk past it in and off train and to the washroom. Hopefully this doesn’t again
I also feel that my tickets Iv been buying is nothing to Amtrak.
I have mention these employees and still nothing was done on either side
