Potentially a great platform

This is a really interesting concept and a great way for people to obtain reservations that are becoming increasingly competitive.

There are still a few things that could be improved, particularly the interface, the ease of use and the ability to contact people for help within the app but it’s still a significantly useful app with a high level of use.

It’s a scam

Stay away from this app!!!!! After you make a bid with your card, if the bid isn’t successful you think your money is refunded to your firm of payment but it isn’t!!! They create a virtual credit card with your name and a fake Las Vegas address which belongs to Aria resort and casino, and they “credit” the money to that card that they only know about!! If you are lucky enough to figure out that the money wasn’t credited back to your card, after jumping multiple apo hoops you are able to retrieve the information of that virtual card that now bears your name with a fake Las Vegas address and use it to credit yourself back!!!!!! That is absurd! What bank is this card issued from? How do they issue a card without your consent? What happens to that card? How do you cancel your account?? There is zero information on any of these issues!!! FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD just reported them to the authorities for online fraud. Good luck if you decide to use this app

Hey Vigoroux,

It is unfortunate to see reviews that are being posted after having exchanged multiple emails without mentioning support responses.

We absolutely refund payments every business day to the original form of payment,
in your case we could not refund the payments as you already used your virtual card on Amazon to access your entire account balance.

Currently we ask users to reach out to support@appointmenttrader.com to request a refund, which is prominently displayed in every user’s main account.

As bids are often for many days in the future, the funds are being held in a deposit account while a bid is active.

As customers frequently buy and sell reservations their AppointmentTrader account allows users to access the account balance via a virtual debit card in real time.

As we have explained in our email communication, it is not a credit card that has been opened in your name without your consent - to create the card a user has to press a button “Show Card Number”, then enter their name and finally confirm that their details are correct to create the card.

As this is a virtual card that is solely used to access account funds instantly the charges are billed to us which explains the billing address of the virtual card being our business address in Las Vegas and also guarantees there is no impact or even a soft inquiry to your creditfile.

In your case the card address was actually outdated, which has been attended to.

Lastly, we are working on a function that allows users to generate their own balance refunds and hope to release this feature in June.

Horrible UX, no support, but it worked

This website and app feel like they were created in the 90s. The UX is just so so bad. Most of the links seem to just redirect to the main listing page, and even without that the site is just opaque and badly designed. This coming from an internet native who can usually make sense of any site in a short time. I found using this site very frustrating.

Everything on the site is market place based, so there’s no real guarantee that you’ll get something useful for your money. You can’t really take any actions, just put bids out for other people to maybe take actions or maybe nothing happens. This applies to the “customer support” as well, which seemed to be a black hole.

That said, it did work in the end for what I wanted. I ended up canceling my bid for a reservation and when I got a notification for an instant buy option. I ended up having to personally text message the person listed on the resy reservation and ask them to contact the restaurant to transfer it to my name. Otherwise what’s to stop the person from just showing up?

So I’m giving this a 2 because it worked, but I would not recommend it to anyone unless they were truly desperate.
