Description

Open up new worlds of creative music making possibilities with Audiobus, the musical hub that lets you use your compatible music apps together, just like virtual cables.

Here are some of the things you can do with Audiobus:

Send live audio or MIDI from one Audiobus-compatible app or AUv3 Audio Unit to another. Add effects on top of your favourite synthesizer, and use your favourite step sequencer to drive it. Or plug in your guitar, and create your own effects chain, in parallel with your mic input. Adjust the mix and balance with the mixer. And send the result to your favourite DAW, sampler or looper, or run it out through a multi-channel audio interface.

Integrate your music gear with Audiobus: connect a Bluetooth or wired MIDI keyboard to play a synth or other app or Audio Unit. Or, control your whole session from a foot switch or other MIDI controller using Audiobus' MIDI Learn In-App Purchase. And sync with external hardware with Audiobus' best-in-class MIDI clock.

The possibilities are endless.

Audiobus has a rich community of over a thousand great compatible apps, including:

Audiobus is an iOS studio essential

From connecting any of the compatible apps on their site to making a custom oscillation and generated instrument for a kit for sale? This is it. The depth of possibilities are huge. It has a transport that will sync with a daw. And it connects instruments and effects in a way few apps in the world can. If all apps worked like this? The future would be cool. Meaning this is so far ahead of anything you thought possible on an iOS device that you could watch videos all day about what people do with Audiobus and it is all new. Every day people figure out more stuff it can do. So you do all that and save the preset? It loads and connects every compatible app (100’s) for you. It’s like all the wires of a real studio. In one hand. Did I convey I more than like it? I have needed Audiobus and have used it 10+ years. It’s extremely fun as well.

Total control

I’m using a CEntrance MicPortPro with a Sennheiser microphone. This app lets me see and select available interfaces. In the case of the MicPortPro, AudioBus lets me select left channel, right channel, both, or any combination. Accidentally selected both left and right, plus right, resulting in higher levels (actually sounded better). No other app I’ve seen gives you this kind of control. After you select your input, you can add plug ins and Route the audio out to the app of your choice ( in my case Twisted Wave). Indispensable. Suddenly using an iPhone to record voiceover isn’t such a cumbersome effort.

Thank you! That's great to hear.

App not necessary / demo version would have been helpful

I read reviews, and I read the online manual for Audiobus. My main main purpose for getting Audiobus is that I need to route AUDIO to multiple BUSses. The manual says the app makes it possible for you to do this. However, after purchasing this, the only options are to route to L/R (or Out 1/Out 2). The app is not necessary to be able to do this. What I need is an app that will route audio from my iPad to multiple busses on a DAW on my computer.

Audiobus is a really a virtual mixer that allows you to route audio from a handful of audio apps to one mixer and/or to other apps. Output is limited, but it can be resolved with the purchase of a physical audio interface to connect directly to your iOS device. This, in turn, eliminates the need for the app in particular live performance settings.

To be fair, the app seems like it would do great if I actually used the apps that it is compatible with... which really is quite a few.

I originally gave this a 1=star rating, but decided it wasn’t a fair rating just because it doesn’t do what I needed it to do. However, the app does seem to be good at its current design.

Again, a demo version would’ve been extremely helpful in determining this prior to purchase.
