Backgammon Guru & Backgammon Guru Pro are modern backgammon master-strength Players and Tutors based on the world-class neural net engine from gammonlab.com
Backgammon Guru and Guru Pro versions feature attractive backgammon boards and support natural checker movement where both dragging and tapping are supported. You can play against the computer or with a friend.
Guru & Guru Pro support standard Backgammon as well as HyperGammon. They will also allow you to set up any desired position for play and analysis.
Guru & Guru Pro will answer your "what-if" questions, like what if there was a specific roll in a specific position and what's the best possible move there.
In the default Player-Tutor mode, e.g. when you are playing against a master-strength AI, Backgammon Guru & Guru Pro will allow you to substitute a random roll with any specific roll of your choice. You will be able to take back and replay multiple moves as Backgammon Guru & Guru Pro support unlimited undo functionality.
Backgammon Guru Pro version will analyze your match and color-code your errors in a move list. With Backgammon Guru Pro you will be able to navigate your move list interactively and see where you could have played better. You can also email the match to yourself for further analysis.
While Backgammon Guru Pro by default continuosly shows the equity graph, in Backgammon Guru you would also be able to see, upon request, the statistical chances and best possible moves in any position.
Backgammon Guru Pro supports 4 different skill levels, multi-point matches, doubling, Crawford rule.
Both Guru & Guru Pro indicate pip count for players, support long moves, sound effects and multiple other options.
As opposed to Backgammon Guru, Backgammon Guru Pro version has no ads and offers many more options.

Nice way to learn backgammon
If you never played backgammon or you don’t fully understand the rules you can just follow the auto move and learn and once you learn you can train against the computer . My only complain is that sometimes is not too clear what is selected so you have to tap more than once to find out
I just this got game after checking out many other backgammon apps, and reading many reviews. I played several games in a row, just to watch that again and again the computer was able to roll consistent combinations its to cover it's a marker. The few times that I was able to find one of its that I could hit, The computer miraculously got down immediately and covered it's marker again. I am an OK player, and was looking forward to building my skills. Instead, I just sat there and watched as the computer won. This game has the option to push auto move instead of choosing for yourself where you place your markers. So I checked it out to see if it would give me any advantage. It just made the game go quicker so the computer would win. NO FUN TO BE HAD HERE!!
If you want to play backgammon with someone that almost always gets their numbers, then this is the game for you. Computer's 4 point blocks are virtually impenetrable. Player's 4 point block is like a sieve. In a race to the finish? The computer will get several doubles; player may get double 1's.
Assessment of play also stinks. Nobody is ever deemed to have made a good play (the computer included). If you want to play backgammon there has to be better alternatives. If you want high blood pressure this is the way to go.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
