Description

A bass fishing game from a birds-eye view, with new lakes to fish and tackle to try out every day!

Bass Tourney Challenger starts out very easy and casual at Level 1. You’re standing on a dock and you simply tap where you want to cast, tap and hold to reel in. Catch a few bass and you’ll qualify for bass tournaments. In a tournament you’re fishing against other real players recent results. Do well and you’ll advance to Level 2.

Level 2 gets you your first boat, and new lakes to explore every day. As you advance to higher and higher levels, you gradually unlock more features and additional challenges. Your first boat is pretty small, slow and basic, but if you do well in the tourneys you’ll earn an upgrade before long. Keep working your way up and you’ll find boats with trolling motors or shallow water anchors, and sonar fish locators from old-school to cutting edge live fish tracking.

And the boats get much, much faster. That’s a good thing, because the lakes get bigger. So do the bass.

Advancing in levels gives you more control over how you work your lures, and how you scan the area for hungry bass. Even the rods and lures get better.
Higher levels also bring new challenges. At early levels you can’t hurt your boat by crashing it, but rise high enough and the stakes get higher too. High level bass tournaments give you more fishing time, but also have more competitors fishing for that first place finish.

Every level has separate bass tournaments and a separate global leader board, so you’re always competing against people on the same lakes, with the same level equipment, and the same features and challenges.

A new lure for every level arrives in the tackle shop in the game every 2 hours, and stays for just a day. The variety of lures is literally endless. Different types have realistic features. Some cast farther, some hook fish better, some avoid snags better, and some have more vibration to get noticed by fish from farther away. Check out the selection often and you’ll build a collection that will have you ready for whatever habitat you find as you explore new lakes every day.

Advancing to higher levels is always optional. If you want to keep it casual, you can stay at any level you enjoy, or even step back down levels. If you’re ready to be a top tier Bass Tourney Challenger, fish your way to Level 20!

In-app purchases are available to let you pick up some extra Bass Bux, the currency in the game, for shopping for equipment upgrades. You can’t buy your way to the top, though. The only way to advance in levels is with the points you earn competing in tournaments.

This fishing game is free up to Level 4. Any in-app purchase removes the limit so you’re ready to fish your way up to the upper levels.

Bass Tourney Challenger does not collect or use any personally identifiable data. We encourage players to pick nicknames that don’t reveal their actual identity when they appear on the leader boards on in tournament results.

Bass tourney challenger

This game is overall really fun and actually very complex. Many moving parts and always things to do. I really liked the beginning of the game for how easy it was to obtain new lures and items however once I unlocked the line tension feature fighting fish became very very time consuming and although the difficulty was fun it was inaccurate. Would definitely recommend to a friend but some things could be fixed or changed!

Thanks for your feedback! The fish fighting definitely gets more challenging once you reach the level where line tension takes effect. That's especially true if one of the daily lakes you're fishing has relatively large bass for the level you're on. I think the best strategy is to shop for the rod with the strongest line you can find, so the line tension is much less likely to get dangerously high. Fighting a 5 pound bass is much easier on 12 pound test line than on 6, for example. An outfit with a high speed reel also helps take in line more quickly whenever the tension is low enough to reel in safely. Action and casting range are useful, but I think it helps to prioritize line strength, then reel speed.

As you reach higher levels and outfits with stronger line becomes available, and fighting fish takes less time unless the fish is extremely large.

Takes me back to early 90’s console fishing games

Love this game. I’ve been wanting to find a game like this for a while. Old school fishing game memories relived! Stick with it. As you progress more features are unlocked like reel speed, boats, finesse techniques to attract fish and I’m sure more to come. I’m only at level 4. But it’s fun searching for fishing spots and larger fish. And I only invested a couple bucks for a lot of spending in game cash. The prices for gear are reasonable. It’s worth it It would be cool if you could see the individual weights of your catch at weigh in. And to have more stats like your top catches per location. All in all a great game. Keep the updates coming!! Update: disregard the individual weights comment. I just noticed it on the pause menu :) up to level 7 now! Many more features unlocked with 13 levels to go. Gets better and better

2nd update: Up to level 14. 12 pound LMB is my record. It Just gets more fun as you go. And more challenging. My boat is almost too fast lol So much fun

Another suggestion. It would be really cool in the future to have a multi player option. Maybe up to 20 other boats on the water with you, and potentially crash into lol. You could race to get to your hole! I could see it being really fun

Maybe catching a tagged fish for a bonus would be cool too

Thanks so much for your detailed review! Yes, new features keep coming with every level. Some give you an advantage, like better sonars, and some add to the challenge, like damaging your boat if you run it aground. The goal is to start really simple, and then have it keep getting more involved, and hopefully more fun as you go.

Fun to pass the time during the winter months

Overall a fun game! I would recommend that developers allow you to purchase multiple baits at one time.

You have to wait a few seconds each time you buy a bait. I wish I could select the number of baits I would like to purchase for a single lure

Developer Response ,

That's a good suggestion! Once in a while you find a particularly good lure in the shop and you know right away you want some spares. I'll add that to the list for future updates.

Thanks for your review!
