Description

Bones of the body is designed to rapidly teach you the name of all the bones in the body.

At the start only three bones are quizzed, but more are added as long as you submit correct answers. This way the difficulty gradually increases based on your performance.

Quizzing has two modes; Tap to learn and Spin to learn.

In Tap to learn the name of a bone is displayed and you're supposed to tap the correct bone. Double tap to submit the reply.

In Spin to learn an image with a highlighted bone is presented. You're supposed to select the correct name from a list of bones below the image. The list always contains the correct answer as well as bones with similar names. For example, if the bone trapezium is displayed the list always contains trapezoid as well. This makes sure that you learn to distinguish between bones that are easy to mix up.

Both quiz modes are designed to be pedagogical. For example, if you make a mistake the correct answer is displayed and you're given another attempt. Incorrect replies also cause those bones to be more likely to appear again, thus focusing you're study effort where it is most needed.

Names that are used in an everyday setting (for example knee cap) and medical settings (for example patella) are included, and clearly distinguished between. In addition to English the names in Latin are included. To ensure correct terminology the names are verified using several anatomical textbooks and the Terminologia Anatomica.

An atlas is also provided in case you want to look up the name of a particular bone.

AMAZING APP WOULD 100% RECOMMEND!!!

Great app I personally have been wanting to learn about the bones in the human body, this app is very helpful for sure. One of they best parts about this app is it has very little ads and if you want to remove ads it’s only a dollar, I personally think the best part is you can just study where bones are or you could quiz yourself and if you get one wrong it the tells you what you selected and what you where meant to select. The app makes it very easy to learn the bones and the app itself is very actually insanely easy to use. Due to the app being so great and easy and very memorable it took me about a hour or two to memorize the hand, one suggestion though is there should be something that you can buy for 0.99 that helps you memorize the organs and everything else.

Simple but effective

This is definitely time consuming given you generally go through clicking the same few bones before gaining a new one but it’s a great way to start learning the names. The pictures do a great job of breaking the bone up surprisingly. They aren’t super fancy like some apps but the pictures work perfectly for learning. This won’t be my only study tool but certainly helpful when I can’t whip out a text book or laptop!

Good way to learn

For being a free app, it gives almost everything one would need to memorize the bones. The repetition and the constant reminder help me lock the information down. Some improvements could come with the pictures, they are sometimes unclear; the superior view of the tarsal bones of the foot. Another thing that could be added is when it is asking for a grouping of bones, as in the carpal bones, the correct answer shouldn’t just be one of the bones but all in the grouping. Otherwise a great app
