Ratings and Reviews
Exaclty the app I was looking for
Iwanted an application that I could use to inventory my Geneaolgy books. I have some books in print and others as PDF/ eBooks. I needed a visually pleasing way I could keep track of all of them in one place. I also needed a wish list section so that i could keep track of those rare out of print books I am hunting for. I'm excited I was able to find Book Track in the app store. The app meets those needs perfectly. I also really appreciate how beautiful this app was designed. Far to often when I working with genealogy programs they work well but leave a lot to be designed in the graphics department.
There are a couple bugs still being flushed out; like the year released field still not allowing input. With that being said, I purchased this app yesterday and there was already an update today adding the ISBN field as well as a few other improvemnts.
If you are looking for an app that is super affordable, has current developer support, is beautiful and easy to use, give Book Track a shot.
Terrific app!
I’ve been looking for a way to keep track of all the books I have on my Kindle—once I figured out how to get a CSV of my books, this app has turned out to be fantastic. I can organize my books in numerous different ways, giving me all sorts of ways to filter them which makes it much easier for me to find the kind of book I’m looking for and so finally take advantage of all the books I’ve bought over the years and never yet managed to read. Not only that, but when I had trouble configuring the app, when I contacted the developer, she was very responsive and helpful, answering all my questions. This app is not only well-set up and easy to use, but has a real live person happy to back up her work. After years of looking, I’ve finally found the perfect book tracking app!
Missing the Mark
While a beautiful app, it misses a few key components of standard applications. There is no option for mass edits (say, you'd like to change several books "Author" category at once - or changing categories, tags, or other categories by simply highlighting a group of books). Quick keys such an "Enter" or "Esc" do nothing to complete an entry or close a window. THe navigation in the app is not quite as intuitive as it seems, leaving the user feeling as if something is missing... Lastly, for now, importing is slightly confusing and exporting (either a basic pdf or a mess of a csv) leaves little to use for your own purposes; perhaps by design or lack of imagination, but exporting is a feature that does nothing more create a useless file for you to manage.
