My Breather experience

I have the Breather Voice. Due to my schedule I don’t get to practice as much as I would like but there is a big difference in being able to sustain my breath through 4 measure phrases both singing words or long holds on “ahs,” etc. Also, my husband is taking speech therapy due to weight loss due to his epiglottis not closing causing him to choked when eating causing aspiration of food and water into his lungs. During his speech therapy he uses the Blue Breather along with other modalities. I was skeptical that speech therapy would work - what a surprise. - it has helped him in that he now rarely chokes when eating and he is also gaining weight. All I can say is that the breather does what they say it will do. Sandra & Richard Taylor

Needs some fixes for better score

I think this app is basically great! It does what is supply to do, mostly. My request is that the app be not so rigid in its treatment planning. I sometimes forget or miss a session, or a day, if my life gets hurried. Maybe you are better than I at keeping to a perfectly regimented schedule. 1. In these cases if you want to restart your schedule but it is your day off on the schedule you can’t restart where you were. And Sunday is your day off so you can’t practice Sundays. You can use another breathing app and this has helped me when I was locked out of training. 2. If you miss a day or two the app has no way for you to start back where you were. You have to totally change your training program (with the “change training program button” then do it again and pick your original program. Then you can only restart at the beginning. Now I realize that this program is trying to have you be disciplined like a clock which I can often do. But if you slip the program goes on without you and offers no flexibility. I like the breather and the program. Developers haven’t included flexibility in this version.

worked great for about a week now broken

Multiple reboots and different networks make no difference; app refuses to launch. i could delete the app, but fear that will erase my history. Will probably try it anyhow. Otherwise was quite good. Only things missing from app otherwise
1. if you want to train outside the scheduled programs, there’s no way to just have it do a session.
2. there is no explanation of what a “breath” is. Now sure, you can watch the demonstration videos, about the diaphragmatic breathing - but i suspect that the therapist is not *completely* emptying lungs and then completely refilling them (similar to lung function tests via spirometry). Which is fine, my point is that it should be explained.
3. there is no explanation of whether you should attempt to target the default breath timings if you are unable to do so on day one, by increasing the app defaults for breath pause, or whether you should purposely increase the breath duration even as a challenge (the harder programs simply seem to increase the number of breaths per session).
