Description

C172 Performance computes all the useful performance numbers for flight planning for Cessna model 172 aircraft. It includes calculations for takeoff, landing, climb, cruise, descent, instrument procedures as well as emergencies. It also includes an interactive hold calculator, a risk analysis tool, and an emergency glide distance calculator that handles head and tailwinds.

C172 Performance is also available on other mobile devices and as a WebApp (an App that runs in a browser) that runs on a variety of platforms (PC, Mac, tablets, phones). The cloud sync feature allows flight planning profiles entered on any device to be synchronized with your other devices when connected to the Internet.

C172 Performance is a free, open-source development effort and has Apps and WebApps for other aircraft. See http://pohperformance.com for complete details.

Fantastic app

This is the most amazing app I have come across in a long, long time. Very user friendly and with lots of options and it will give you very detail information with lots and lots of data. For performance calculations look no more, this is the best app you will find anywhere else...

Great App!

I have found this app to be easy to use and a helpful planning tool. I haven’t flown general aviation in many years and was excited for the new technology. This app allows for quick and easy W&B and performance calculations along with current weather conditions. I highly recommend it.

Amazing Work

The above reviewer says it all- this app is amazing. I would only add a couple of capabilities:
1) climb performance in both FPNM as well as FPM using the various flap settings and during departure (Vy), enoute (cruise climb), arrival, and missed approach.
2) the ability to input specific POH data for other GA aircraft/models/etc. Perhaps this could be done in a companion app

Developer Response ,

The climb performance in FPM and FPM is calculated on the Departure Procedure and Approach Procedure pages (under the Instrument Procedures tab on tablets).

Aircraft performance data is not standardized. Even within the Cessna 172 models there are wide differences between the data in older models and newer models. All this requires code. That said, the app is free and the source code is published in order to foster a community effort. Much of the C172 data was entered by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering to help produce apps for other models, please let us know at info@pohperformance.com.
