CardValet® helps you protect your debit and credit cards by sending you transaction alerts and giving you the ability to define when, where and how your cards are used. Simply download the CardValet app to your smartphone, then customize your alert preferences and usage settings to monitor and manage your cards.
Alerts Ensure Safe, Secure Card Usage
Alerts for PIN and signature transactions can be set up to keep you informed of your debit and credit card usage and help you quickly detect unauthorized or fraudulent activity. CardValet can send an alert when a card is used or when a card transaction has been attempted but is declined – and additional customizable alert options are available. Alerts are sent in real time, immediately after a transaction has taken place.
Location-Based Alerts and Controls
The My Location control can restrict transactions to merchants located within a certain range of your location (using your phone’s GPS); transactions requested outside of the specified range can be declined. The My Region control uses city, state, country or zip code on an expandable interactive map; transactions requested by merchants outside of a specific region can be declined.
Usage Alerts and Controls
Spending limits can be established to allow transactions up to a certain dollar value and decline transactions when amounts exceed your defined thresholds. Transactions can be monitored and managed for specific merchant categories such as gas stations, department stores, restaurants entertainment, travel, and groceries. And your transactions can also be monitored for specific transaction types: in-store purchases, e-commerce transactions, mail/phone orders and ATM transactions.
Card On/Off Setting
When the card is “on,” transactions are allowed in accordance with your usage settings. When the card is “off,” no purchases or withdrawals are approved until the card is subsequently turned back “on.” This control can be used to disable a lost or stolen card, prevent fraudulent activity in the case of a data breach, or control spending.
CardValet also lets you to conduct card-related mobile transactions wherever you are, any time of the day. Supported transactions include:
• Real-time balance inquiries
• Locating ATMs
• All cardholders can receive alerts to monitor transactions and protect their accounts
• You can actively manage your money and take charge of your card usage
• Parents can remotely control and monitor their children’s spending
• Businesses can ensure spending policy compliance
We’ve listened to your feedback and made some changes to improve the user experience. Now you can check account balances directly from the Card Details screen.

Disappointed to thrilled!
Update #II: I have been able to use the Card Valet without any difficulties since my last post. A few times my transactions were "denied". Not the apps fault, I had limits set on the app (such as $100 limit on purchases). Each time this has happened I was able to "fix" it in minutes. Just love the app & it gives me a little more security. DON'T hesitate to download & use it-fantastic app! Just wish I could add my two other cards, but they are from other banks.
Update: ok, maybe a gluten for punishment, I down loaded the app again. Thus far it is working like a gem. Very satisfied! Now, just hope it continues to work! I don't mind that I have to login in each time I want to use it, better than someone using my finger to log in if I were to pass out or unconscious for some reason. Really doesn't matter to me. Fingers crossed it continues to work as expected!
I was thrilled to download it & set it up w limits, balance alerts, etc. It worked great the first 3 days. On the 4th day, my day to run errands & get groceries, I went to login & it would not allow me. I tried several times throughout the day to login & it still was unable too. Thank goodness I had checks w me. I tried again today to login, no luck. And, YES, I had the correct user name & password. I finally removed it from my phone. I may, or may not, attempt to use it again. Great theory, however, not worth it if one is unable to access it. Very disappointed!
This app has helped me help my elderly father who has someone use his debit card for him. As p.o.a. for my dad, I’m doing the best I can to take care of his bills and finances for him from 1,000 miles away and this app helps me monitor how his helper uses my dad’s card and not allow that person to take advantage of him. It would really be even more helpful if the alerts would let me know not only when, where, and how much, but also WHAT items were purchased to make sure this person isn’t purchasing items like cigarettes or beer for themselves at my dad’s expense. Those would be items I know for sure my dad would never buy. Or maybe make those types of items disabled for the card? That would be great.
One problem I’ve had with this app is that 3 times now it had not recognized my password or fingerprint to sign in and I had to call the bank to help me with starting the process from the beginning with new password again. Frustrating! This happened about every month. Since this new update, I haven’t had any issues YET, but it hasn’t been a month so I’m hoping I don’t have further issues. Over all a good app.
Update Ruined the App
It was an amazing app, I never had any problems viewing my account and it was even better than my back account. However, this update has made everything way more difficult than it needs to be. I can no longer view how much is in my account, and the charges are formatted in a complete lot different way that I am used to. Maybe I’ll just have to try to get used to it, but so far really disappointed in the updated version. Honestly, I don’t recommend anyone getting this app until they fix it. They took away the easy insight on how much you’re spending a month which helps me finance and watch my spending. I don’t want to have to go looking every time I want to see how much I’m spending or how much is in my account.
Update: I now know how to view my balance and spending but I hate that I have to go in and search for it. It was so much better before. The notifications will also not go away. I just almost have to delete this app because even though all the reviews are saying the same things, there has been no change.
