Cololight 4+

The software/interface is not seamless. Every once and a while it will have issues and won’t work. Troubleshooting it is one of the biggest hassles ever. Or sometime you simply just have to wait for it to fix itself. It’s really bad to the point where I would recommend coughing up a little more money and buying another brand with a better user interface and less glitches. Also I really do not like the fact that you have to enable location, wifi pw, and it has to store info in files iCloud. All that is unnecessary, it’s just a light. I sometimes really consider getting rid of it. But when it does work it’s very nice.

Updated review: Since the update, the user face is usable “somewhat”. Still very confusing to get customization of the lights going compared to the old interface. I still have not figured out how to customized the lights to work with the synchronization of music. I did figure out the pre customization of changing the lights based on the presets and custom colors. Nonetheless, the old app should come back! I know the old app version was outdated look-wise but at the end of the day worked! It was simple to learn and fulfilled the purpose allowing “full” functionality! This new interface is hard to learn even for someone technically advance as myself.

Original review: Return back the simplistic app you once had. The update requires firmware that’s unnecessary. Keep the light simple!

The app for the cololight works pretty well, and I am more than happy with my light and the app. The setup was pretty easy overall, and the app itself feels a little “fragile” and wonky at times. Everything was setup in less than 15 mins which was awesome.

The one thing that i noticed that was pretty frustrating, was that when I would swipe right to go to the full colors, when ever I selected tea white, the light itself would disconnect itself and freeze on white. The only way I could fix this is by unplugging the light and closing and reopening the app. The same thing would happen rarely when making a custom presset everyonce and a while.

Overall I rate the light 8/10 really vibrant and dantastic in person, cameras dont do it justice
