Compasse turns an iPad into a reassurance board for someone living with cognitive decline. You run it from your iPhone.
WHAT THE BOARD SHOWS
The time, the weekday and the date in large type. What comes next today. A line from the family. It stays on, on a stand where they look.
TAP TO TALK
They tap the bar at the bottom and ask Cassi a question. Cassi answers the same question with the same patience, every time. There is no wake word to remember.
WHAT YOU DO FROM YOUR IPHONE
- Change the family line from anywhere.
- Add an event. It shows on the board as Next.
- Record a reminder. The board plays your recording at the time you choose, exactly as you recorded it.
- Set medicine reminders. They tap “I took it” on the board, and your phone shows which were taken.
- Check in or start a call. Their answer comes back to your phone.
SETUP
You create the account and set everything up on your iPhone. Once, someone at the iPad types an 8-digit code to link it. After that, everything happens from your phone.
WHAT YOU NEED
An iPad on Wi-Fi in their home, and one iPhone for whoever sets it up. iPhone and iPad only.
PLAINLY
Cassi is a synthesized voice. She never speaks as a family member; family recordings play back exactly as recorded. There is no camera, and the board listens only after someone taps it. Compasse is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor or keep anyone safe, and it does not replace a visit, a phone call or a caregiver.
